It was pretty cool taking the lead and watching Lankford strikeout twice for the loss.  Typical losing fashion for me.

Well, since I had a win taken back from me on like Tuesday earlier in the year in this league by a recalc, it's pretty much par for the course this.  Nice win.

Cuse that was a close one, pending stat adjustments still, but a 9th inning strikeout in the last game of the week is a hell of a way to lose.  

This week was bad, in this league I had the 2nd lowest score and won, in another league I had the 2nd highest score and lost.

For me to get a stacked offense I had to trade away my pitching staff and I did that everywhere! Now I have to retool my pitching staff if I’m going to retool might as well roster some high upside players.

Example Ronny Mauricio after what he did in triple and what he did over the weekend who wouldnt want him right now.. I always loved the guy he crushes baseball he is fast his biggest problem he chases out of the strike zone. In winter ball 2022 he was the best player on the team that had elly on it so guy legit. Mauricio has shown better plate discipline and they say it’s because he was standing in the box while pitching machines was throwing him pitches since he tore his ACL and it helped him recognize the spin of off speed pitchers. Small sample but since triple he has shown better approach at the plate. Personally I always thought he had more upside than baty or vientos

As ugly as it’s been it’s more of a small retooling than rebuilding. Things are in place. They just need to get past the big waves to the calm sea. Healthy is coming. The arrow is only up 

Big improvements from last season the biggest improvement is his chase rate… you are correct about the red flags.. 

my biggest red flag in Cags profile is a 70% in zone contact rate hopefully he can get that in zone contact back up to elite levels i believe he can because watching his at bats he has been focused on not swinging at pitches that are outside the strike zone and looks indecisive at times. Once he gets a better understanding of pitch recognition he will go nuclear 

The opposite I just acquired him in another league with cags getting the promotion to triple. The way he is hitting the ball he can be up before the all star break.

My intrigue for Bido just went down a tick he was up 0-2 then he followed that up with 4 consecutive non competitive balls for a walk in… I noticed last night that early in the counts he was throwing a lot of competitive balls but when he was ahead in the count he got erratic.,. I may lose week 1. 23 week grind. I tell Launch yearly I respect his squads and moves. Even with three of the best players in the game Witt/Hend/Tucker I see the other teams more complete as of right now. My opinion isn’t meant to offend anyone. I’m working on being more kind. But at the same time I have to do my job. Things will play out

After review the only scenario i see right now how the season plays out as teams stand is Kluber>Brook to take my trophy back.

7. Overhyped Prospect Fatigue: Sixth overall pick, big signing bonus, “next Ohtani” hype—sound familiar? He’s got all the makings of a bust when the expectations don’t match the output. Your league’s drooling over a name, not results.

8. Small Sample Spring Foolery: Yeah, he’s mashing in spring training—3 homers, 2.098 OPS! But it’s 14 plate appearances against scrub pitchers. Don’t fall for the hype; he was .241 in High-A over a bigger sample.

9. No Speed, No Steals: He’s 6’5”, 250 pounds—not exactly a base-stealing threat. Fantasy points are gonna dry up quick when he’s not padding your SB category.

10. Development Time Lag: He’s raw—likely starting 2025 in Double-A. Even if he moves fast, he’s not sniffing the majors until late next year, if at all. Your dynasty roster needs help now, not in 2026.

The biggest impact bat to come out of this years 12 round draft is not Campbell, Bazzana or Cam it’s going to be either Kurts or caglianone.

i got my money on the anti Paul Skenes “Jac Caglianone” how skenes abandoned being a 2 way player and his arm took a step forward

Cags greatest weakness is the strikeout but people often just look at the K% and not the root cause on why the player strikes out so much.
Cags greatest weakness is he swings at everything he swung at >55% clip in college and high A and his chase rates was >40% clip everywere 🤮.young players who have elite bat to ball skills tend to expand the strike zone because the know that they can hit anything.

Would you imagine junior, Campbell with that approach they would of been free 99 in the draft

Cags greatest strength he has legit 80 grade power but that’s not what going to make him elite.

Cags has elite bat to ball skills his inzone contact is >90% in college and high A last season. His spring training inzone contact is top 5 with J.Ram and Pasquantino

Cags had me hooked during the AFL his first 13 games had a chase rate >40% with that came with a .605 OPS 14k and 3bb. The last 10 games he has a 25% chase rate that came with .985 OPS 5k and 5bb

what had me all in on Jac is he was fooled on a breaking ball he was off balance and with a one arm hit 112 off the bat

Cage bat speed is ranked 4th behind Stanton, oneil Cruz, Schwarber and ahead of judge

i never get amped up for a hitter like I am with cags to the point where I trade for them. I don’t believe in trading for prospects I did for Oneil Cruz, Elly and now for Cags keep in mind I was trading for him before he went nuclear in spring training

As I skim through teams I can help but to think the title comes home. With the Jackson brother breakout and Junior entering untouchable territory it’s all in place. Campbell and Cam behind that. It’s the only scenario I see boys

As for last year look through context. I had a lot of key injuries/bad luck. Those teams also I didn’t even set a lineup the last 4 weeks. Very unlike me. Still doubled my total entry in winnings on a “off year”  But needed for the context. I was burnt out and even voiced that. Even with that you didn’t pull away. Now do the year before when I won 3/4 of the leagues were in and 8/15 total. Uncle Charlie may have been the year before but either way. Think of it like the stock market. Every 7-9 years we see a “correction” before we go to all time highs. If you scale this out and made it a “heads up” challenge it’s not going to be close. I will win that bet every single time. 

For the record I wasnt talking 💩 or trying to slight your team when I made that statement. It was a neutral statement based on you having no SP/innings limit guys. 

Also, those teams in the 4 were in all all reshaped and ready to go on major runs after one year off. I’ve got some tricks laid out 

klub maybe I don’t end up making the playoffs but I have shot like every team does. In this league there is no dominant stand out team on both hitting and pitching. Every team has weaknesses 

What I do know is that we are in four leagues together and you would have said I was not a playoff team in any of the leagues in 2024 and I outscored you in every league some by a good amount.

I traded the best SP and best offensive players on the planet in Skubal and Soto entering their primes. Those are the kind of moves that get GMs fired if they can’t produce. Just gotta stay within arms length until Eury gets back and starts a decade long Cy young run 

AI said all prospects wind up being hall of famers.  They never miss and you should fill your roster with them.  

Can we get the AI droids input on projected standings?  Klub may love the technology,  if they have him in the medal ceremony.  

Klub, I don’t think you have a playoff roster.  I think you got a bunch guys that could break either way (2.5ppg or superstar) backed up by guys that haven’t played any serious mlb time.

And unfortunately for you they’re on back half of careers. It was easy to see. As easy as Cole TJ incoming after last year. Was shocked to see you after him 

The day I copy brooks moves is the day i tell fireskunks  to bring his AI robot over so I can teach it and him how to find talent before everyone else. That being said I am always open for business every league. Business is business 

With my top offence I just need to produce an average pitching staff to compete. With a combination of hitting on pitchers that I drafted and free agent 2 start pitchers and closers hopefully I can cobble together a competitive pitching staff..

Ok, I really really like my team this year.  I know past performance doesn’t mean performance this year….. but damn.   Some notes

i have:

-The only team with a player that has won multiple MVPs.  In fact I have all 4 of them.

-The only 50-50 player ever

-The only active player to hit over 60 HRs and 2 of the 4 players that have 50 in a season.

-The team with the most Cy Young Awards

- 4 of the top 5 active leaders in OPS

Lots of you have very dangerous lineups, probably Brooklyn is the only 1 that comes close tho.  And as for everyone’s can’t miss prospects and 2nd year guys that could be stars; 90% of prospect miss and half the stud rookies have sophomore flops.  Good luck

His strike out rate is high because of a 40% chase rate if the man could reign in the approach combined with the high zone contact rate and his ability to lift the ball…. Watch out!!!

Another year of Brook copying my playbook. After he watched me draft Dana, he looks him up cause there’s zero chance In hell he knew who he was until he seen me draft him. I wouldn’t let AI set my roster or make draft decisions, but will use it as a research tool.  Treat it more like a short cut to info that would be gathered at multiple different websites or social media platforms.  It’s not like any of us are watching tape on these AA games.
