Matthew Stafford Jul 25 5:40pm ET
    Matthew Stafford

The Los Angeles Rams will hold their first padded training camp practice on Monday, ESPN's Sarah Barshop reports, and quarterback Matthew Stafford (back) is expected to participate. Stafford has been dealing with a sore back early in camp and has been working off to the side with trainers so far. While this certainly bears watching for the 37-year-old veteran as we get closer to the regular season, it doesn't quite sound like anything too serious just yet. The Rams are most likely taking extra precaution with the star QB early in camp after signing him to a two-year, $80 million contract extension in the offseason. Stafford lost receiver Cooper Kupp this offseason but gained Davante Adams, and he of course still has young stud Puca Nacua. Injuries and a lack of rushing ability give Stafford little room for error in the fantasy realm, though, making him a low-end QB2.

    D.J. Chark Jul 25 5:20pm ET
    D.J. Chark

Veteran free-agent wide receiver DJ Chark, who spent the 2024 season with the Los Angeles Chargers, is signing an undisclosed one-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons on Friday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Chark, who has also played with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Carolina Panthers, will now head to the NFC South after going on several visits. The 28-year-old former second-rounder (61st overall) by the Jags in 2018 out of LSU spent most of last year with the Bolts injured and only managed to catch four of 10 targets for 31 yards and a touchdown in seven games (no starts). Chark's only 1,000-yard season in his seven years in the NFL came back in 2019 with Jacksonville in his second year in the league. He will give the Falcons receiver depth but will be fighting for a 53-man roster spot, so he can remain off the fantasy radar mostly everywhere for now.

    Tre'Quan Smith Jul 25 5:20pm ET
    Tre'Quan Smith

Free-agent wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith took a visit with the Tennessee Titans on Friday, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Smith is looking to latch on with a new team after he was placed on Injured Reserve last year with an undisclosed injury before being released in August by the Detroit Lions. The 29-year-old was active for just one game back in 2023 with the Denver Broncos, too. In 2022 in his last year with the New Orleans Saints, Smith had 19 receptions on 27 targets for 278 yards and one touchdown in 15 games (six starts). The former third-rounder (91st overall) in 2018 by the Saints out of Central Florida has never had more than 34 receptions or 448 receiving yards in a single season since debuting in 2018 in the Big Easy. He will merely be competing for a roster spot in training camp this summer if he signs with an organization.

Cedric Tillman Jul 25 5:10pm ET
    Cedric Tillman

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Cedric Tillman (calf) went down in the back of the end zone at training camp practice on Thursday and immediately started holding his calf, according to ESPN Cleveland. Trainers were then seen stretching Tillman's calf muscle, which could mean that Tillman was just cramping due to the heat. Although this could turn out to be just a minor injury, the Browns really can't afford to lose any more wideouts early in camp, as both David Bell (hip) and Michael Woods II (hand) are also sidelined in the early going. The 25-year-old Tillman will be given every chance to serve as the WR2 behind Jerry Jeudy in 2025 after come on strong near the end of last season before suffering a concussion in the final month. The Browns also have Diontae Johnson now, though, and Tillman is going to need to prove it. It may be difficult with Joe Flacco projected to start at QB.

Jerome Ford Jul 25 4:00pm ET
    Jerome Ford

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said that running back Jerome Ford (undisclosed) missed another training camp practice on Friday, but he's getting closer to returning to the field. Ford was able to work out earlier on the field with the athletic training staff, per Scott Petrak of The Elyria Chronicle Telegram. This is a situation of more urgency because of the fact that rookie second-rounder Quinshon Judkins remains unsigned while dealing with charges of domestic violence. The good news, though, is that the 25-year-old Ford's undisclosed injury is minor, and he should rejoin his teammates at practice soon. The former fifth-rounder had 813 rushing yards and four touchdowns in 2023, but he took a step back last year with 104 carries for 565 yards and three TDs in 14 games. Ford is currently RotoBaller's RB53, but he could rise up draft boards if Judkins is handed down a suspension.

Baker Mayfield Jul 25 4:00pm ET
    Baker Mayfield

Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht told The Athletic that he is eyeing an extension "when the time is right" for quarterback Baker Mayfield, and hopes that Mayfield "continues to be our quarterback for a long time." The 30-year-old Mayfield still has two years remaining on his current contract, but he's coming off the best season of his career in 2024. In 17 games, he threw for 4,500 yards and 41 touchdowns, chipping in 378 yards and three touchdowns as a rusher for good measure. Mayfield has an excellent supporting cast of receivers to work with in Tampa Bay between Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Emeka Egbuka, and Jalen McMillan. While he may see some touchdown regression in 2025, Mayfield is a good bet to rack up passing yards and provide solid back-end QB1 play in fantasy.

Anthony Richardson Jul 25 3:50pm ET
    Anthony Richardson

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr. worked with the team's first-team offense in practice on Thursday and was "far from flawless," according to James Boyd of The Athletic. Boyd notes that Richardson was 3-for-7 as a passer with an interception during the 11-on-11 portion of practice. The number four overall pick in the 2023 draft, Richardson Sr. has yet to cement himself as the Colts' franchise quarterback and now finds himself in a battle for the QB1 role with Daniel Jones. Richardson Sr. possesses elite fantasy upside due to his rushing ability (635 career rushing yards, 10 touchdowns), but he's struggled mightily as a passer. He completed just 47.7% of his passes in 11 games last season and recorded more interceptions (12) than passing touchdowns (eight). Previous reporting indicated that Richardson Sr. was behind Jones in the QB competition heading into 2025, and it does not seem as though the first few days of Colts training camp have changed that.

DeAndre Hopkins Jul 25 3:40pm ET
    DeAndre Hopkins

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins (undisclosed) was back in action on Friday after missing the team's Thursday practice with an undisclosed ailment, according to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said previously that Hopkins was held out as a precaution, and that appears to be the truth. The 33-year-old Hopkins is likely someone who Baltimore will be judicious with in terms of practice workload anyway, so a single-day absence early in camp shouldn't be considered highly worrisome. Hopkins recorded 56 catches for 610 yards and five touchdowns in 16 games split between the Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs in 2024. He's more of a supporting piece at this point in his career, but he'll be in the mix with Rashod Bateman as a secondary target option at receiver for Baltimore behind Zay Flowers. The Ravens also have talented tight ends Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely, so Hopkins could be looking at an even further reduced workload from what he saw last season.

Kaleb Johnson Jul 25 3:30pm ET
    Kaleb Johnson

PG Sports Now's Brian Batko reports that Pittsburgh Steelers rookie running back Kaleb Johnson was the second RB (behind Jaylen Warren) to work with the first-team offense in training camp practice on Thursday. Johnson is an ideal fit for offensive coordinator Arthur Smith's offense, and although the Steelers have Warren, Kenneth Gainwell, Trey Sermon and Cordarrelle Patterson (undisclosed), Johnson could have a nice little role in his first year in the NFL. Ideally, Johnson would be the No. 2 for Pittsburgh this year next to Warren. His production last year at Iowa was impressive -- 1,537 yards and 21 touchdowns on 240 carries -- and he also has the benefit of being in a run-first offense led by quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Johnson will split touches with Warren, but he has enough big-play ability to be in play as an RB3/flex in fantasy right away.

    From RotoBaller

Tank Bigsby Jul 25 3:30pm ET
    Tank Bigsby

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Tank Bigsby has the team's "coaching staff frequently singing his praises" for his work early in training camp, according to John Shipley of Sports Illustrated. Shipley notes that Bigsby "got the bulk of the key reps" and "stood out quite a bit more" than Jaguars running back Travis Etienne. The 23-year-old Bigsby is entering his third year in Jacksonville and could be poised to take over a lead role in the team's backfield. He played in 16 games in 2024, recording 168 carries for 766 yards and seven touchdowns. Bigsby struggles as a receiver, but he's an efficient rusher who excels around the goal line. With head coach Liam Coen leading a new staff in Jacksonville, Bigsby could emerge as the clear RB1 for the Jaguars with a strong preseason.

    From RotoBaller

Savion Williams Jul 25 3:30pm ET
    Savion Williams

ESPN's Rob Demovsky reports that Green Bay Packers rookie third-round wide receiver Savion Williams (concussion) was out of training camp practice on Friday due to a concussion. Williams was able to make a few nice catches in the first couple days of practice, but now he could miss a bit of time, depending on well he can bounce back from his head injury. Head injuries are never good news, but this could be especially troubling for a 23-year-old rookie trying to learn a new offense at the next level. When healthy, Williams is probably going to have a tough time seeing the field consistently, even with Christian Watson (knee) potentially missing around half the season. The Packers also have Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks, and first-round rookie Matthew Golden will certainly be ahead of Williams on the receiver depth chart.

    From RotoBaller

Justin Jefferson Jul 25 3:30pm ET
    Justin Jefferson

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson (hamstring) has suffered a mild left-hamstring strain, according to Alec Lewis of The Athletic. Lewis reports that the team plans to be "really cautious" with its star receiver, but does not relay any sort of timeline for his return to practice. Jefferson missed seven games with an injury to his right hamstring back in 2023, so there's a history of soft-tissue injuries in his lower body. The 26-year-old is arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL, coming off a season in which he recorded 103 catches for 1,533 yards and 10 touchdowns. His presence on the field is critical to the success of Minnesota's offense and first-year starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy. It's too early to say that Jefferson is at risk of missing any significant time, but the Vikings are already likely facing an early-season suspension for their WR2, Jordan Addison.

    From RotoBaller

Matthew Golden Jul 25 3:20pm ET
    Matthew Golden

Green Bay Packers rookie wide receiver Matthew Golden was being used in multiple different fashions during the team's training camp practice on Friday, according to Ryan Wood of USA Today. Wood notes that Golden was "doing a lot of pre-snap motions" and broke a jet sweep for a gain of 20-plus yards along the left sideline. A first-round draft pick out of Texas, Golden was utilized exclusively as a receiver in college. However, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur has shown a willingness to get the ball in the hands of wideouts like Jayden Reed and Christian Watson in unconventional manners in the past. It's a good sign for Golden that he appears to be a focus of the offense this early in camp. Green Bay has a deep receiver room, but there's opportunity for the rookie to emerge as the true go-to target for quarterback Jordan Love.

Rashid Shaheed Jul 25 3:20pm ET
    Rashid Shaheed

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed said he put on weight in the offseason in order to hold up better against contact, but ESPN's Erin Summers said he also made sure that he didn't lose any of his signature speed. Shaheed is now up to 190 pounds as he enters the 2025 season. The 26-year-old will play at 10 pounds heavier, although he could lose a lot of that weight as the season progresses. Shaheed should be fairly safe as the WR2 in the Saints offense behind Chris Olave after catching 46 passes for 719 yards and five touchdowns in 2023 as a first-time Pro Bowler. He played in just six games last year due to a knee injury, though, and whether he'll have the same breakaway speed will certainly be a question. Another big question mark will be the Saints' QB situation. RotoBaller has Shaheed ranked at No. 51 among wideouts.

Tetairoa McMillan Jul 25 3:10pm ET
    Tetairoa McMillan

Carolina Panthers rookie first-round wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan (leg) has been taking part in team drills during minicamp this week, per Joe Person of The Athletic. There's nothing to worry about with McMillan physically after he missed some time in minicamp with a leg injury. The Panthers drafted McMillan with the eighth overall pick in April's draft, so the 22-year-old from Arizona figures to have a pretty big role right away in his rookie campaign. Not many people expect a ton from the Panthers offense, but if quarterback Bryce Young builds on the end of his second year in the NFL, McMillan could be a nice little value pick as a WR3/flex in fantasy. There have been rumors of potential laziness from McMillan from his days in college, but he was extremely productive in college and has ideal size (6-foot-4, 219 pounds).

Tahj Brooks Jul 25 2:00pm ET
    Tahj Brooks

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor and offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher said throughout the spring how impressed they were with rookie running back Tahj Brooks' pass-catching abilities out of the backfield. Reporter Jaron May writes that Brooks had three catches -- two checkdowns and one designed route -- in the first set of 11-on-11 drills at training camp practice on Friday. The 23-year-old sixth-round selection wasn't a very prolific pass-catcher in his college days at Texas Tech, but he could be used more as a receiver at the next level as he competes for a depth role going into his first NFL season. Chase Brown is the team's unquestioned lead back, but Brooks will compete with Zack Moss (neck) and Samaje Perine for a change-of-pace role. For now, he's more of a dynasty stash.

Erick All Jul 25 1:40pm ET
    Erick All

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Erick All Jr. (knee) is set to miss the entire 2025 season after undergoing a second surgery on his ACL this offseason, according to James Rapien of BengalsTalk.com. All was seen at training camp practice on Thursday walking around with a brace on his right knee. The 24-year-old played in just seven games in his final season in college due to a torn ACL, and he tore the ACL in the same knee last year as well. The Iowa product appeared in nine games (six starts) with the Bengals in his rookie season before injuring his knee and caught 20 of 22 targets for 158 yards and no touchdowns. It's been a tough go for All the last two years, but he's hoping to come back strong in 2026. With All out for all of this year, it will mean more work for both Mike Gesicki and Drew Sample.

Jalen Royals Jul 25 1:20pm ET
    Jalen Royals

Kansas City Chiefs rookie wide receiver Jalen Royals continues to impress early in training camp and had one of the best days on the field during practice on Friday, according to Jesse Newell of The Kansas City Star. Royals had an impressive back-shoulder sideline catch on a pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes as he continues to work in with the starting offensive unit. The 22-year-old fourth-round selection also turned heads in Wednesday's practice while working alongside Xavier Worthy and Marquise Brown, almost of his time with the first-team offense has come when Rashee Rice hasn't been on the field. It's notable because of the fact that Rice could be suspended three or four games to start the 2025 season, so Royals could have a role early on for the Chiefs. When Rice is available, though, Royals will face an uphill battle for consistent playing time, especially with KC using a lot of two-TE formations.

Chase Brown Jul 25 1:20pm ET
    Chase Brown

Yahoo Sports' Jori Epstein reports that Cincinnati Bengals coaches and players have been very high on running back Chase Brown this summer. "I think Chase Brown is going to, by the end of the season, be a household name," offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher said. "He's everything that Austin Ekeler was. I think that by the time the season's over, [you'll all] know who he is." Pitcher has also said the Brown will be a focal point of the offense this year, which seems like a good idea after he ran for 990 yards and seven touchdowns on 229 carries in 16 regular-season games (10 starts) in 2024. He also caught 54 of his 65 targets for 360 yards and four touchdowns, proving he can really do it all. Brown had at least 50 snaps and 15 touches in each of his last eight games. The Bengals could look to spell him when they need to, but he's at least a low-end RB1 target in fantasy.

Micah Parsons Jul 25 1:10pm ET
    Micah Parsons

In the midst of Dallas Cowboys All-Pro pass-rusher Micah Parsons' ongoing contract-extension talks with the team, quarterback Dak Prescott praised Parsons with how he's been handling the situation while still working out with the team at training camp. "He's a great teammate, showing up, obviously not just on the field and being focused, but whether it be in the camaraderie, hanging out, dinner. He's not just doing it to sign off and say, 'Hey, Jerry, look at me.' He wants to be out there practicing. And honestly, I'm glad he's not. He can't do that to himself. That's the business of it. That's the business of a holdout, so I do think he's taken some great steps with being here," Prescott said. The signal-caller also said he thinks Parsons deserves to be paid, which he surely will, most likely before the start of the 2025 season. Parsons is expected to become the highest-paid non-QB when he eventually agrees to a new deal with Dallas.
