Lions' RB Jahmyr Gibbs ran for 127 yards on 11 carries with one touchdown for an outstanding 11.5 yards per carry in Sunday's win against the Titans. It was Gibbs's 2nd consecutive 100+ yard rushing performance. He has averaged 122 yards rushing in those games.

Oct 22 12:00pm CT

Detroit's RB Jahmyr Gibbs scored an impressive 32.00 fantasy points in Sunday's Week 7 win in Minnesota. Gibbs ran for 116 yards and caught four passes for 44 yards with two touchdowns. It's the 1st time this season Gibbs scored at least 25 fantasy points in a game.

Dynasty | Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs had 116 rushing yards, four catches, 44 receiving yards and two touchdowns in a win against Minnesota. Dynasty Analysis: Gibbs took advantage of an early David Montgomery injury to post his best game of the season. While Montgomery did return to action, Gibbs carried the mail most of the day and showed just how talented he is. Unfortunately, this is going to be the way it goes with both in Detroit long-term. While it's great two have two premier running backs in reality, it's created a major buzzkill for dynasty managers. Still, Gibbs is a weekly play who can post games like this every week.

Oct 20 3:30pm CT

Detroit's RB Jahmyr Gibbs ran for 116 yards on 15 carries with two touchdowns in Sunday's win in Minnesota.

Oct 14 8:10am CT

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs was efficient with his touches in the blowout victory over the Dallas Cowboys, but only turned in an RB2-level performance. The dynamic back finished with 63 yards on 12 carries and caught three of his five targets for 28 yards. This game was another instance where David Montgomery took over in the red zone and took the touchdowns instead of Gibbs. Despite that, Gibbs has remained at a higher value in PPR formats since he returned to being involved in the passing game. He might have a tough time against a stout Vikings defense in Week 7 though.

Oct 9 8:50am CT

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs has failed to catch a pass in the last two games (although he did get 20 yards and a receiving touchdown on a lateral in Week 3). It's the first time in his young career that he's failed to log a reception in back-to-back games. Thankfully for fantasy football, he's averaging 13.5 carries and 71 rushing yards per game and has failed to score a touchdown just once. The Dallas Cowboys have allowed 17 receptions to running backs this season, the fifth-lowest mark in the league. However, the 222 yards they've given up to the position is the sixth-most. Even if Gibbs can't break off a long reception, the Cowboys' defense is banged up and has been susceptible against the run. Gibbs and his counterpart David Montgomery should be viewed as top-12 running backs this week.

Oct 1 7:40am CT

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs led the team in rushing on Monday night against the Seahawks, carrying the ball 14 times for 78 yards and two rushing touchdowns. Gibbs didn't add his normal pass-game involvement as he did not catch a pass out of the backfield in the game. Nonetheless, it was a very productive game for Gibbs, scoring on two short runs. The Alabama product out-carried David Montgomery 14-12 in this game and was able to convert a few goal-line chances and find the end zone. Both running backs should be extremely productive moving forward. Once Gibbs gets more looks in the passing game out of the backfield, he profiles as one of the top fantasy options at the position.

Sep 27 3:00pm CT

Jahmyr Gibbs has been featured in the Lions' backfield so far this season alongside David Montgomery and that should continue to be the case in Week 4. The versatile running back had a season-high 16 carries against the Cardinals in Week 3 and scored a touchdown on a lateral play after a catch by Amon-Ra St. Brown. He had 20 total touches in Week 2 and 15 touches in Week 1, so expect him to continue to be a focal point of the Lions offense and remain involved in the passing game. As always, Montgomery will be involved as well. But expect the Lions to pound the ball on the ground despite having center Frank Ragnow (pectoral) already ruled out for Monday's game. The absence of Ragnow could hurt the rushing attack but the Lions have a well-balanced offensive line and Gibbs can always fall back on his pass-catching chops out of the backfield. Gibbs should continue to be started with confidence.

Sep 23 12:00am CT

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs rushed 16 times for 83 yards during Sunday's win over the Arizona Cardinals. He didn't catch a pass in the contest, but he did take a lateral from Amon-Ra St. Brown for an extra 20 yards into the end zone. He finished the day with over 100 scrimmage yards and the score, giving him 16-plus fantasy points in each of the Lions' three games this year (PPR scoring). Gibbs has been out-produced by David Montgomery so far, but both running backs have emerged as very strong fantasy options. The 22-year-old is a fringe RB1 heading into Week 4 against the Seattle Seahawks.

Sep 19 8:40pm CT

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs had plenty of success on the ground versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week. The young back rushed 13 times for 84 yards all hauled in all seven of his targets for 22 yards in the loss. The Lions have made it clear early in the season that they want to get Gibbs heavily involved in this offense. He should continue to have success against the Arizona Cardinals defense in Week 3. The versatility of Gibbs makes him such an intriguing weapon on offense. He should remain a strong RB1 for Week 3.

Sep 16 7:30am CT

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs had a good week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, posting 84 yards on 13 carries. Gibbs led the backfield in attempts and receptions, adding seven catches for 22 yards. Even though the first-round pick was kept out of the endzone, he had 20 total touches, leading the entire Detroit offense on Sunday. Gibbs has lived up to being a consensus first-round fantasy pick so far this year. Fantasy managers should have no problem starting him as an RB1 from here on out, even if he splits carries with David Montgomery. The Alabama product has a lot of fantasy upside and has shown that on the field over the first two weeks of the 2024 season. Gibbs remains a must-start against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 3.

Sep 9 1:00pm CT

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs had a solid fantasy performance against the Los Angeles Rams, carrying the ball 11 times for 40 yards and a touchdown. Gibbs added four catches for 34 yards through the air. Although Gibbs is still splitting time with David Montgomery, he is a must-start, considering his high ceiling and elite pass-catching ability. He was tied for the second-most targets against the Rams and performed much better in the second half of the game. The Lions play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 2, who gave up 101 receiving yards to running backs in Week 1. Gibbs is a must-start and should be in all fantasy lineups versus Tampa Bay.

Sep 7 8:40pm CT

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) is healthy and ready to go for his matchup against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night. Gibbs hurt his hamstring a few weeks back at practice, but that is all behind him now as he enters a juicy Week 1 matchup with a 52.5 point over/under. The second-year back is coming off an exceptional rookie season in which he rushed for 945 yards and ten touchdowns on 182 carries (5.2 avg). He even chipped in an additional 52 receptions for 316 yards and a TD on 71 targets. All this despite eclipsing more than a 63% snap-share in 3-of-15 contests. Gibbs may get a little less work this week as he is eased back into action after his injury. However, he has proven his efficiency on limited touches in the past and is always a threat for a house call with the ball in his hands. The Alabama product is RotoBaller's RB8 heading into Sunday's slate.

Sep 4 4:30pm CT

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) put in a full practice on Wednesday and wasn't included on the team's first official injury report of the 2024 season despite missing most of training camp and all of the preseason with a hamstring injury. Things were already trending this way, but the 22-year-old second-year back will be active in Week 1 on Sunday night against the Los Angeles Rams, barring a setback with his hamstring later this week at practice. Fantasy managers in redraft formats will want Gibbs locked into their starting lineups this weekend, although it's entirely possible he's eased in by the coaching staff in favor of backfield mate David Montgomery after he missed so much time in training camp. The 12th overall pick in last year's draft scored 11 total touchdowns in 15 regular-season games in his rookie campaign and should be a solid RB1 in Year 2 if he stays healthy.

Sep 3 4:20pm CT

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) said that he's ready to go for Week 1 of the regular season on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams. Gibbs said he feels around 98-100% healthy after tweaking his hamstring early in training camp while running routes. "I'm good, just had a little tweak," Gibbs said. The second-year RB also said he's "more confident overall" entering Year 2. The 22-year-old returned to practice a week ago, and although he may be listed on the team's first official injury report on Wednesday, fantasy managers that invested in him at the end of the first round or early in the second round of drafts this year should feel confident that he'll be active on Sunday. Gibbs will be a must-start RB1 each week he's active, but he'll carry more bust potential in the season opener if the Lions decide to lean more towards backfield mate David Montgomery to ease Gibbs in.

Sep 2 12:10pm CT

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell said that running back Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) should be good to go for the Week 1 regular-season opener this Sunday, Sept. 8, against the Los Angeles Rams. Gibbs injured his hamstring in early August and missed most of training camp, but the 22-year-old second-year back should be available to play in the season opener this weekend. He was able to get back on the practice field last week. There's a chance Gibbs will be listed on the team's official injury report once they start practicing on Wednesday, but fantasy managers won't need to be worried that he won't suit up against the Rams. However, with all that said, there's a chance the Lions lean a bit more on David Montgomery in their backfield in Week 1, giving Gibbs a bit more bust potential as an RB1 to kick things off in 2024.

Aug 26 1:20pm CT

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell said that running back Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) returned to training camp practice on Sunday. Gibbs returned to the practice field for the Lions after missing two weeks with a strained hamstring. Now that the 22-year-old is back, he'll have just under two weeks to prepare for the Week 1 regular-season opener on Sept. 8 against the Los Angeles Rams. The Lions haven't seemed too worried that Gibbs won't be ready for the season opener, but there's still a chance he'll cede more touches to backfield mate David Montgomery to open the year. Now that Gibbs is back at practice, fantasy managers should feel more comfortable taking him as a midrange RB1 in drafts, either late in the first round or early in the second, especially in point-per-reception formats. Gibbs was the 12th overall pick in 2023 and had 945 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns and added 316 receiving yards and another score in 15 regular-season games in his rookie campaign.

Aug 20 12:30pm CT

The Detroit Lions are still planning to have running back Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) ready for the Week 1 regular-season opener. "Gibbs, our plan is get him going next week. He's trending the right way and we're hoping day after the Pittsburgh game, I think we're going to get a lot of guys back," head coach Dan Campbell said. The Lions play their preseason finale this Saturday against the Steelers, so hopefully Gibbs will return to practice this Sunday and be ready for the start of the 2024 regular season in the first week of September. The 22-year-old second-year back has missed more than a week of training camp due to a hamstring injury, and while some fantasy managers may have moved him down their draft boards as an RB1 because of the injury, he may not end up missing any time at all to begin the year. Gibbs finished as the RB10 in half-PPR leagues in his rookie season and is currently ranked as RotoBaller's No. 6 RB.

Aug 14 12:10pm CT

Detroit Lions Pro Bowl running back Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) didn't suffer a significant hamstring injury in training camp practice on Monday night, according to sources, but the Lions will be very cautious with his rest and rehab to make sure he's 100 percent healthy. Bleacher Report's Jordan Schultz says that his understanding is that Gibbs should be ready for Week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams. Fantasy managers that already took Gibbs as their RB1 can breathe a sign of relief, although it doesn't mean that David Montgomery won't handle most of the backfield touches early on as the Lions ease Gibbs back into the fold. Gibbs finished as the RB10 in half-PPR scoring in his rookie campaign in 2023 and currently has an ADP of 13.1 in Yahoo leagues, meaning fantasy managers should target him late in the first round/early in the second round, as long as it looks like he'll be active for Week 1.

From RotoBaller

Aug 14 8:20am CT

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell stated "I think we're gonna be fine here" regarding the injury to running back Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) during a radio interview on Wednesday morning. There wasn't a timeline given on Gibbs' return to training camp, but Campbell's statements suggest it's not a long-term injury. The second-year running back is viewed as a late-first or second-round pick in fantasy football this year. His stock will slip if he hasn't returned to practice as the season opener against the Rams approaches. David Montgomery will take the bulk of the touches in Detroit if Gibbs were to miss any game action.
