Nov 3 7:50pm CT

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson had an uneven game as the Packers suffered defeat at the hands of the NFC North-leading Detroit Lions 24-14. Watson led the Packers in targets with seven, only bringing in three receptions for 37 yards. In the fourth quarter, Watson added a successful two-point conversion with a catch to prop up his fantasy day a little more. It's been an up-and-down season for Watson and he's had a hard time separating from a talented group of pass-catchers in Green Bay, which limits his fantasy value. The Packers have a week off in Week 10 but against the division-rival Chicago Bears in Week 11, Watson should be a boom-or-bust flex play for fantasy.

Nov 1 5:10pm CT

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson has been hit and miss this season but can turn things around with a good game when the Packers host the Detroit Lions in Week 9. Watson has been entirely touchdown-dependent this season as his two best games this season have come when he scored touchdowns in Week 1 and Week 6. He did lead the team in targets last week with six against the Jaguars but could only muster four receptions for 39 yards. While Watson is one of the Packers' most dangerous deep threats, it all comes down to who is playing quarterback for the Packers in Week 9. Jordan Love (groin) was listed as questionable in the team's final practice report and if he doesn't play, Malik Willis will start. Willis at quarterback downgrades the pass-catchers across the board for fantasy, so while Watson with Love at quarterback is a dart-throw flex play, Willis at quarterback makes Watson an avoid in fantasy in Week 9.

Oct 27 5:10pm CT

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson led the Packers in receptions as they edged the Jaguars in Jacksonville 30-27 in Week 8. Watson tied for the team lead in targets on the day with a six-target effort, bringing in a team-leading four receptions for 39 yards on the afternoon. All six of Watson's targets came with Jordan Love at quarterback, who left in the third quarter with a groin injury. Watson put forth a solid effort, but with the injury to Love and the bevy of pass-catchers involved each week in Green Bay, there's a lot of competition for targets and fantasy point-scoring opportunities. Watson is a boom-or-bust flex option for fantasy managers when the Packers host the Detroit Lions in Week 9.

Oct 25 6:00pm CT

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (ankle) practiced in limited fashion on Wednesday and Thursday but put together a full practice and was removed from the team's injury report, indicating that he's good to go for the Packers' Week 8 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The story for Watson has been up and down, as he's paired some touchdown-dependent games with several clunkers, like last week where he only earned two targets, catching one of those targets for nine yards. Watson and Dontayvion Wicks have essentially split a role in this offense over the last couple of weeks, with Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed maintaining their roles as full-time players. As long as Watson isn't running a full routes share, he's going to be very hard to trust in fantasy. That said, the matchup is great for Watson and he has loads of big-play potential. For Week 8, consider Watson a low-end WR4 option that is heavily reliant on the big play to matter in fantasy.

Oct 24 9:10pm CT

Green Bay Packers wide receivers Jayden Reed (ankle) and Christian Watson (ankle) were both limited during Thursday's practice. Both players head into Week 8 with injuries, but luckily they aren't considered to be major issues. Reed has been reliable throughout most of the season, but is coming off his worst performance of the season. He should be able to bounce back against the Jacksonville Jaguars secondary in Week 8. Watson has been quiet this season, but does have big-play ability. If active, Reed is a must-start while Watson is a desperation boom-or-bust choice.

Oct 23 7:00pm CT

Green Bay Packers wide receivers Jayden Reed (ankle) and Christian Watson (ankle) were both limited in the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday. While Reed and Watson remain on the injury report for another week, neither pass-catcher is in much danger of missing the Week 8 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road. Neither Reed (two catches for 10 yards) nor Watson (one catch for nine yards) were able to do much at all in the Week 7 win over the Houston Texans, but they have a great matchup to bounce back in this weekend. All of Green Bay's receivers can be boom/bust options in fantasy, but Reed warrants a must-start status as the most consistent among Watson, Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks. Reed is currently the WR5 in half-PPR scoring, while Watson sits at WR73 while playing in only five games.

Oct 18 5:40pm CT

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (ankle) turned in three limited practices this week and was removed from the Packers' injury report. He should be all set to suit up for Green Bay's game against the Houston Texans in Week 7. Watson returned to the lineup in Week 6 following an ankle injury that kept him out of Week 5's game with the Rams. He led the team with 68 receiving yards, catching 3-of-4 targets, plus a touchdown grab that capped off his afternoon. Watson's ankle is clearly being managed a bit more despite him taking 60% of snaps and 72% of routes per dropback last week, so with the stiff competition with Jayden Reed, Christian Watson, Tucker Kraft, Dontayvion Wicks, and other pass-catchers for target, Watson will be in a tough spot to return consistent fantasy production each week. Still, as Watson is a big play waiting to happen, he should be considered a boom-or-bust WR3 with solid flex viability this week against the Texans.

Oct 17 2:30pm CT

Green Bay Packers wide receivers Jayden Reed (ankle), Christian Watson (ankle) and Dontayvion Wicks (shoulder) were all limited in practice for the second straight day this week on Thursday. Reed and Wicks suffered injuries in the Week 6 win over the Arizona Cardinals, while Watson returned last Sunday after missing one game due to an ankle sprain. The fact that all three are practicing this week is a good sign that they'll be available this weekend against the Houston Texans. Of the trio of wideouts, Reed is the best fantasy option and enters Week 7 action as the WR3 in half-PPR scoring with 27 catches for 442 yards and three TDs while adding 110 rushing yards and an additional score. Assuming all three play against Houston, Reed will be a must-start in fantasy, while Watson and Wicks are more of boom/bust WR4/flex options.

Oct 16 9:40pm CT

Green Bay Packers wide receivers Jayden Reed (ankle), Christian Watson (ankle), and Dontayvion Wicks (shoulder) were all officially limited participants for the team's Wednesday practice. Tight end Tucker Kraft (groin) was also limited. Yikes. As of now, wideouts Romeo Doubs, Malik Heath, and Bo Melton are the only three receivers on the roster without a designation. Watson played through the ankle injury he sustained a few weeks back in last week's contest, so it's likely just a maintenance day for the third-year wideout. However, Reed and Wicks picked up their respective injuries in the 34-13 win over the Arizona Cardinals. The former returned to action -- with minimal production -- while the latter did not return in the victory. In the case of Wicks, head coach Matt LaFleur remarked that he "dodged a bullet," and it seems the team is optimistic he misses little to no time. Fantasy managers should closely monitor the Packers' WR room over the coming days.

Oct 13 4:30pm CT

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (ankle) was questionable on the injury report this week but played, led the Packers in receiving yards, and added a touchdown reception as the Packers defeated the Arizona Cardinals 34-13. Watson reeled in three receptions on four targets for a team-leading 68 yards, including a 44-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter where Watson dusted his defender and quarterback Jordan Love put the ball on him for an easy touchdown. Watson has a lot of competition for targets and the production falls to different players each week. Because of that, that puts Watson into low-end flex territory for fantasy managers as the Packers host the Houston Texans in Week 7.

From RotoBaller

Oct 13 10:50am CT

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (ankle) is officially active in Week 6 on Sunday against the visiting Arizona Cardinals at Lambeau Field. Watson suffered a left high-ankle sprain in Week 4 and missed the Week 5 win over the Los Angeles Rams, but he'll surprisingly end up missing just one game with an injury that was expected to sideline him multiple contests. It's good news for the Packers, but fantasy managers may want to be wary of relying on him in starting lineups, especially with Romeo Doubs also returning from a one-game suspension. Watson does have a touchdown this year, but he's also caught only five passes on eight targets for 80 yards in the four games he's played. The crowded nature of Green Bay's receiving corps makes all of their pass-catchers boom/bust WR4/flex plays outside of Jayden Reed.

From RotoBaller

Oct 11 3:30pm CT

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game, according to Wes Hodkiewicz. The former first-round selection was unable to suit up last week due to an ankle sprain he suffered in Week 4. This week, Watson was able to log three consecutive limited practice sessions. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to any updates over the weekend. Watson found the end zone in Week 1 but has been relatively quiet and has caught only two passes since Week 2. If Watson is able to suit up, he should be viewed as a flex option with risk given the amount of pass-catchers in the Green Bay offense, which limits his production.

From RotoBaller

Oct 10 6:50pm CT

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (ankle) put in his second limited practice of the week on Thursday. Watson is making good progress after suffering a left high-ankle sprain in the Week 4 loss to the division-rival Minnesota Vikings. He did not play in last Sunday's win over the Los Angeles Rams, but two limited practices this week has put the 25-year-old in play to potentially return for Week 6 versus the visiting Arizona Cardinals. Watson is probably going to need to upgrade to a full practice on Friday to avoid a questionable tag on the final injury report. Even if Watson is active this weekend, he'll be a shaky flex play for fantasy managers with a potential cap on his snaps as he works his way back into the fold in a crowded receiver picture in Green Bay. A second straight missed game would mean more targets for Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks.

From RotoBaller

Oct 9 6:10pm CT

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (ankle) was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday. This is good news for fantasy managers as Watson missed the Packers' Week 5 game against the Los Angeles Rams. Watson has been underwhelming in fantasy in 2024. A combination of injuries and the absence of Jordan Love for a couple of games has significantly impacted Watson's production. He only has five receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown in 2024. That is good for 19 fantasy points in five games in PPR scoring. With the emergence of wide receiver Jayden Reed, Watson has likely lost his grip on the No. 1 wide receiver role in Green Bay. Even if he can return in Week 6 against the Arizona Cardinals, fantasy managers should wait and see how Watson fares before deploying him in their lineups.

From RotoBaller

Oct 6 2:30pm CT

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (ankle) is officially inactive for Week 5 against the Los Angeles Rams. He had been listed as doubtful after missing practice on Friday. Injuries have been an issue for the talented 25-year-old, who has now missed nine of his last 22 games. Green Bay suddenly finds itself shorthanded at wide receiver with both Watson and Romeo Doubs (suspension) sidelined for Week 5. Look for the Packers to lean on Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, Bo Melton, and Tucker Kraft in the passing game on Sunday. Of that group, Reed has the most fantasy appeal. Watson will look to get healthy in time for Week 6 against the Arizona Cardinals.

From RotoBaller

Oct 4 3:30pm CT

Green Bay Packers wide receivers Romeo Doubs (personal) and Christian Watson (ankle) are both listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. Doubs missed Thursday and Friday's practice due to a personal issue and Watson left last weekend's game early with a high ankle sprain and did not practice once this week. Fantasy managers should monitor their status over the weekend in case they are able to suit up. If not, Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks should serve as the No.1 and 2 pass catchers for Jordan Love in a favorable matchup against a weak Los Angeles secondary. Tight end Tucker Kraft should also see an uptick in targets if both Doubs and Watson are unable to play.

Oct 2 5:50pm CT

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur confirmed on Wednesday that wide receiver Christian Watson (ankle) will avoid going on Injured Reserve, which would have cost him at least four games. Watson suffered a minor high-ankle sprain in the Week 4 loss to the division-rival Minnesota Vikings and did not take part in the first practice of the week on Wednesday. The 25-year-old hasn't officially been ruled out for Week 5 against the Los Angeles Rams, but that's expected to come later this week. It's still quite possible that the oft-injured Watson misses multiple games, which will mean bigger roles for Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks, who scored twice last Sunday against Minnesota. Wicks was a popular waiver-wire pickup this week with Watson likely to miss time. Tight end Tucker Kraft could also get more involved.

From RotoBaller

Oct 1 1:40pm CT

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (ankle) suffered a high-ankle sprain during the Week 4 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, but he is not expected to be placed on Injured Reserve, according to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report. High-ankle sprains can be tough to come back from quickly, but Watson reportedly has a mild case. Either way, he is likely to miss Week 5 against the Los Angeles Rams. Dontayvion Wicks, who caught five of his 13 targets for 78 yards and two touchdowns in Week 4, is one of the top waiver wire options this week, as he'll see an enhanced role as long as Watson is sidelined. Jayden Reed and Romeo Doubs could see slight boosts in their roles, too.

From RotoBaller

Sep 30 4:40pm CT

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said that wide receiver Christian Watson (ankle) will be out "at least a week or so" after suffering what is believed to be a high-ankle sprain in the Week 4 loss to the division-rival Minnesota Vikings. The oft-injured 25-year-old could be a candidate for Injured Reserve, depending on how he progresses in the coming days. If Green Bay were to place Watson on IR, he'd miss at least four games. The former second-rounder in 2022 out of North Dakota State can't seem to avoid the injury bug, as he also missed 10 games in 2023 due to hamstring issues. With Watson set to miss Week 5 against the Los Angeles Rams at the very least, Dontayvion Wicks, who had two touchdowns on Sunday, will be a very popular waiver-wire pickup. Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs and tight end Tucker Kraft should also benefit from more targets from quarterback Jordan Love for however long Watson is sidelined.

From RotoBaller

Sep 30 8:20am CT

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (ankle) has officially been diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain after leaving Sunday's game with what looked like an injury that could have been more. The good thing is that a fracture has been ruled out according to Ian Rapoport, but Watson could still land on the IR. Unfortunately, it's been a rough start to the season for Watson as he's registered eight targets, five receptions, 80 yards, and one touchdown. He'll now have to miss some time, which we'll likely hear about soon, and that will boost Jayden Reed and Romeo Doubs' value in the meantime. Dontayvion Wicks, who caught two touchdowns in Week 4, will likely see added opportunities as well.
