New York Jets wide receiver Tyler Johnson could enter the 2025 season as the team's WR3 behind Garrett Wilson and Josh Reynolds, according to Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic. "Tyler Johnson has jumped out more in practice," Rosenblatt wrote. "[He's made] some plays after the catch and is exhibiting some athleticism that Lazard simply doesn't bring to the table." He notes that Lazard might not be a lock to make the team's 53-man roster at the end of the preseason. While this is fantastic news for Johnson, it's tough to be excited about his fantasy football prospects. The 26-year-old entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020 and has collected just 76 receptions for 828 yards and four touchdowns in 47 career games. Additionally, New York is set to have a low-volume passing offense with Justin Fields under center. Johnson could be an interesting best ball dart throw, but he can continue to go undrafted in traditionally fantasy setups.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings (calf) is missing a third consecutive practice on Thursday due to a calf strain. According to head coach Kyle Shanahan, Jennings is dealing with the same calf issue that bothered him earlier in the offseason. While his absence is not ideal, the veteran and the organization are going to be cautious at this point in the training camp with another month and change to go before Week 1 of the regular season. The former seventh-round pick out of Tennessee is also reportedly seeking a new contract, so he's unlikely to risk further injury while he awaits a new deal. Jennings posted nearly 1,000 receiving yards a season ago, and he could open the 2025 campaign as the clear WR1 in San Francisco after the departure of Deebo Samuel Sr. Brandon Aiyuk (knee) is a candidate to go on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list to begin the regular season, which would force him to miss at least the first four games.

New York Jets tight end Mason Taylor has been the clear starter during training camp, according to Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic. The second-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft out of LSU already finds himself above veterans Jeremy Ruckert and Stone Smartt early in his first offseason, and star wideout teammate Garrett Wilson has taken notice. "He's got great hands, he finds a way to be open when he needs to be," Wilson said. "I think he's got a bright future ahead of him. He's really going to help us this year. He came in ready." While fantasy managers should consider Taylor as a later-round sleeper in preseason drafts, it usually takes tight ends time to develop, and the passing offense likely has limited upside and volume with Justin Fields at the helm. In deeper setups, he's worth a flyer, but it would be somewhat of a surprise if he's a consistent fantasy option in 2025. Taylor enters the NFL after snagging 55 passes for 546 yards and two touchdowns for the Tigers in 2024.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Las Raiders and wide receiver Jakobi Meyers are in contract talks and could be working toward an extension this offseason. The 28-year-old has been excellent relative to his quarterback play since joining the team via free agency in 2023, collecting 158 receptions for 1,834 yards and 12 touchdowns in 31 games. Meyers is just 28 years old and doesn't rely on explosiveness to succeed, so he could have plenty left in the tank. Former Seahawks signal-caller Geno Smith should provide the best quarterback play Meyers has worked with since Tom Brady in his 2019 rookie season, and he continues to be undervalued in preseason fantasy football drafts. Tight end Brock Bowers is likely the clear No. 1 option in the Sin City, but Meyers should establish himself as the No. 2.

The San Francisco 49ers signed veteran running back Ameer Abdullah on Thursday, according to NFL insider Mike Garafolo. This comes a day after the Niners hosted several running backs for workouts. The former second-round pick by the Detroit Lions out of Nebraska in 2015 has appeared in 141 NFL games, rushing for 1,994 yards, collecting 268 receptions for 1,468 yards, and scoring 19 total touchdowns. Abdullah had a short stretch of fantasy relevance last year with the Las Vegas Raiders, but he could face an uphill battle to make the 53-man roster in the Bay, and Christian McCaffrey and Isaac Guerendo should be viewed as the clear-cut RB1 and RB2 in Kyle Shanahan's offense to begin the 2025 campaign.

Veteran free-agent wide receivers Andy Isabella and Marquez Callaway signed with the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday, reported by NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Isabella was a second-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals before a disappointing four-year career with the organization. He has not played in a game since 2022. Callaway went undrafted in 2020 out of the University of Tennessee and has tallied 83 receptions for 1,069 yards and seven touchdowns in 42 career games (all with Saints). New York Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams (calf) "tweaked" his left calf during individual drills at the start of the team's Thursday practice, according to Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic. Williams did not return during team sessions, but Jets head coach Aaron Glenn did not provide an update on his status. Any missed time for Williams would be a major issue for New York's defense. The 27-year-old was named first-team All-Pro in 2022, and he's recorded 39 sacks and 98 QB hits in his six-year NFL career. Williams has played in at least 16 games in each of the past three seasons, so durability isn't typically an issue for him. If he were to miss time, veterans Jay Tufele and Byron Cowart would likely be in line for increased reps.

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson (groin) attended the team's Friday practice and did some individual work, but did not participate in team drills, according to ESPN's Katherine Terrell. Johnson left the team's practice on Wednesday due to a groin injury. It's a good sign for both him and the team that he's back on the field so quickly, even if he's not yet at full strength. In 17 games for New Orleans last season Johnson recorded 50 catches for 548 yards and three touchdowns. He's emerged as the Saints' top receiving tight end over the past few seasons, and he could be in for an increased workload in 2025 with fellow tight ends Taysom Hill (knee) and Foster Moreau (knee) both currently sidelined due to knee injuries. That being said, Johnson's fantasy value is limited by New Orleans' underwhelming quarterback situation.

Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox (hamstring) returned to the practice field on Thursday. Knox landed on the active/non-football injury list to begin training camp with a hamstring injury but was activated by the team on Sunday. In 16 games last season, Knox caught 22 passes for 311 yards and one touchdown. The 28-year-old is a key piece for a Buffalo offense that likes to feature multiple-tight end formations, but Knox is clearly behind fellow tight end Dalton Kincaid as a receiver. Unless there's an injury to Kincaid, Knox is unlikely to factor in fantasy during the 2025 season.

Green Bay Packers wide receivers Dontayvion Wicks (calf) and Savion Williams (concussion) were both seen back at practice on Friday, according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. Wicks left practice on Monday with a calf injury, while Williams has been battling a concussion for about a week. Both players are competing for reps in a crowded Green Bay receiver room that also includes Romeo Doubs, Matthew Golden, and Jayden Reed. Wicks played 17 games for the Packers last season, hauling in 39 catches for 415 yards and 415 yards. Williams is a third-round rookie out of TCU who recorded 60 catches for 611 yards and six touchdowns in his final collegiate season. Both players need all the practice time they can get to prove themselves worthy of playing time, so it's a good sign that they're back on the field.

It's becoming "more and more clear" how the Jaguars are using running backs Tank Bigsby and Travis Etienne, according to John Shipley of Sports Illustrated. Shipley writes that Bigsby has been the team's "most impressive downhill rusher," while Etienne has been "far and away the Jaguars' best and most-used running back in the passing game." This split isn't surprising based on how each player performed in 2024. Bigsby averaged 4.6 yards per rush attempt compared to 3.7 yards/attempt for Etienne, but Etienne tallied 200 more yards as a receiver. Bigsby could be in line for early-down work in Jacksonville this season, while Etienne is the favorite for passing-down work. Bigsby is currently being drafted significantly later than Etienne, which might be a mistake if the workload between the two is split as evenly as it appears it will be.

Green Bay Packers running back MarShawn Lloyd (groin) is not expected to practice this week, according to Packers head coach Matt LaFleur. LaFleur also said that the team doesn't anticipate a long-term absence for Lloyd, who suffered a groin injury during practice on Monday. Drafted out of USC in the third round in 2024, injuries have plagued Lloyd for the first year-plus of his NFL career. He played in just one game as a rookie due to hip, hamstring, ankle, and appendix issues. Lloyd is competing in camp with Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks for the backup job behind Packers RB1 Josh Jacobs. After missing so much time in 2024, the last thing Lloyd needs is another injury to set him back.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White said he's down to around 212 pounds at training camp and is lighter and quicker and is enjoying how it helps his conditioning and stamina, according to Greg Auman of FOX Sports. White's fantasy stock is down in 2025 -- he's ranked as RotoBaller's No. 41 back -- and will be hoping for primary pass-catching duties in Tampa's backfield behind Bucky Irving, who broke out in 2024. The 26-year-old former third-rounder (91st overall) in 2022 is the perfect handcuff to Irving this year, as he'd likely have a huge role for the Bucs if anything were to happen to Irving. Last year, White had 613 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 144 carries (career-best 4.3 yards per carry) while adding 51 catches for 393 yards and a career-high six receiving TDs. White profiles as an RB4/flex for fantasy managers in PPR leagues.

The Athletic's Jon Machota writes that Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has been the clear standout at this year's training camp. "Lamb has been all business on the field. It's been rare to see him drop a ball in individual or team drills. He's had one so far. And it bothers him. He came to California with a goal to 'catch everything,'" Machota writes. He goes on to say that the chemistry between Lamb and quarterback Dak Prescott "looks ready for Week 1." The Cowboys brought in George Pickens in the offseason, and Cowboys offensive coordinator Klayton Adams is trying to find the best way to utilize the strengths of both Lamb and Pickens. A little more of the spotlight could go to Pickens in 2025, but Lamb is still in a great spot at 26 and in the prime of his career. After four straight 1,000-yard seasons, Lamb is an easy top-five fantasy receiver.

Veteran running back Latavius Murray is retiring from the NFL, Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports reports. Murray was originally a sixth-round pick (181st overall) in the 2013 NFL draft out of Central Florida by the Oakland Raiders. The 35-year-old spent the first three years of his NFL career in Oakland before then joining the Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints for two years each. Murray bounced around with the Baltimore Ravens, Saints, Denver Broncos and Buffalo Bills his last three seasons. He finishes his 10-year NFL career with 6,552 rushing yards and 59 touchdowns on 1,560 attempts while catching 239 passes for 1,620 yards and two more TDs in 151 regular-season games. Murray was a Pro Bowler once in 2015 with the Raiders, when he had 1,066 rushing yards and six touchdowns. He had 300 yards in 16 games with the Bills in his final season in 2023.

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson dropped 10 pounds heading into the 2025 season in an effort to add the necessary speed to make big plays. "I'm trying to unlock breakaway speed," Stevenson said, and "having TreVeyon (Henderson) coming in here running a 4.3. Let me get my speed up." The 27-year-old had a career-best seven rushing touchdowns and ran for 801 yards on 207 carries in his fourth year in the NFL, but he also fumbled the ball seven times. The Pats' investment of RB TreVeyon Henderson in the second round of this year's draft has Stevenson's fantasy stock on the decline. Stevenson still has three-down abilities, but it's clear New England wants to mix in Henderson with him, which lowers Stevenson's fantasy ceiling more of a touchdown-dependent RB3/flex in fantasy. At the very least, he should see plenty of goal-line opportunities.

The early returns on Carolina Panthers rookie first-round wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan have "been glowing," a Panthers source told FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. "He's been even better than advertised -- smooth, explosive, and already gaining trust from the QBs. You can't take your eyes off him at practice because he's making so many big plays." McMillan dealt with a minor leg injury in minicamp but is full-go now and is looking great after the Panthers took him eighth overall in April's NFL draft. The 22-year-old will be the team's X receiver right away as he looks to become one of quarterback Bryce Young's favorite target right away. McMillan will be competing for targets with Xavier Legette and veteran Adam Thielen. If Young takes another step forward in Year 3, McMillan could be a bargain with WR2 upside in the middle rounds of fantasy drafts.

Atlanta Falcons rookie linebacker/edge rusher Jalon Walker (hamstring) will miss his third consecutive practice on Thursday, according to Josh Kendall of The Athletic. Walker's injury has been described as "very minor" by Falcons head coach Raheem Morris. A first-round draft pick out of the University of Georgia, Walker recorded 37 solo tackles, 6.5 sacks, and 11 TFLs in 14 games for the Bulldogs in 2024. The 21-year-old is expected to be an immediate contributor for a Falcons defense that has been desperate for pass-rushing talent in recent seasons. It doesn't sound as though this current injury puts Walker at risk for significant missed time, but with every practice he misses, Walker loses out on valuable preparation time for his first NFL season.

Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Luther Burden III "looks outstanding," according to Adam Hoge of CHGO. Burden III was kicked out of practice by Bears head coach Ben Johnson on Tuesday after making a pre-snap alignment mistake, but it appears as though he's rebounded nicely from the mental error. Drafted in the second round out of Missouri, Burden III recorded 61 catches for 676 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games for the Tigers last season. He's expected to take over for the departed Keenan Allen as the Bears' primary slot receiver this season, so he must get up to speed quickly in training camp. Burden III will have plenty of competition for targets in Chicago. Wide receivers DJ Moore and Rome Odunze figure to be ahead of him in the pecking order, and tight ends Cole Kmet and Colston Loveland might be as well.

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Diontae Johnson has "mostly played with the second and third offensive units" in training camp practices, according to Zak Jackson of The Athletic. Jackson writes that Johnson may be competing with second-year wideout Jamari Thrash for the primary slot receiver role, or "even for a roster spot." In 12 games last season split between the Carolina Panthers, Baltimore Ravens, and Houston Texans, Johnson recorded 33 catches for 375 yards and three touchdowns. The 29-year-old has significantly more NFL production under his belt than Thrash, who had just three catches in nine games for Cleveland as a rookie in 2024. Johnson had been a useful fantasy player for most of his career up until 2024, but it appears he has some work to do just to make the Browns roster heading into 2025.
