Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Seth Lugo (9-2) pitched seven innings and allowed four runs on eight hits with one walk and four runs allowed in a 4-2 loss Monday night against the New York Yankees. The loss was only the second of the season for the 34-year-old veteran, who owns a 2.36 ERA and 1.04 WHIP in 91 1/3 innings pitched. Though he's been outstanding so far this year, this is the second game in a row Lugo has allowed four earned runs or more after only having one such outing in his first 12 starts combined. The road doesn't look like it will get any easier for Lugo, as he's projected for a matchup with two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday.

The Oakland Athletics called up pitching prospect Michel Otanez on Monday for what would be his MLB debut. Otanez made 22 appearances for Triple-A this season, posting a 3.99 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and a strong 35.4% K% that came with a poor 11.8% BB%. Otanez was thrust into a high-leverage situation in his debut, coming in with the bases loaded and one out against the Padres. The 26-year-old walked the first batter he faced, then gave up a single and then a sacrifice fly, allowing three inherited runners to score before getting the final out of the inning. If he is able to get somewhere close to his 35.4% K% from Triple-A, he could be a useful source of strikeouts, but he did not strike anyone out in his debut, and strikeouts from Otanez may cost you WHIP anyway, so the righty is likely off the fantasy radar for now.

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Logan Gilbert (3-4) fired 6 2/3 innings and picked up a no-decision with eight strikeouts and no walks while allowing three runs in an 8-4 win against the Chicago White Sox. The Mariners gave Gilbert zero run support while he was in the game but bailed him out of the loss with a four-run eighth inning, followed by a walk-off grand slam by Cal Raleigh in the bottom of the ninth. Gilbert was cruising with no runs allowed and only two hits through the first five innings before the wheels fell off via a two-run home run in the sixth by Luis Robert Jr. and an RBI single in the seventh by Lenyn Sosa. Gilbert has been excellent this season with a 3.19 ERA and will look to continue his great 2024 with a divisional matchup versus the Texas Rangers on Saturday. Gilbert dominated the Rangers in his last matchup, allowing no runs in six innings back on April 23.

San Diego Padres starting pitcher Dylan Cease racked up eight strikeouts and his sixth win Monday night in a 6-1 victory versus the Oakland Athletics while allowing eight hits and one walk. Cease has been everything the Padres hoped for when they traded for him just before the start of the season. After Monday night his ERA lies at 3.36 with a 1.00 WHIP and 101 strikeouts in 83 innings pitched. He has a lot of weight on his shoulders with all of the current injuries in the Padres rotation but his performance has certainly made up for all those losses. Cease faces an inconsistent New York Mets lineup this Sunday and should be loaded up in your fantasy lineup.

Boston Red Sox second baseman prospect Nick Yorke was promoted to Triple-A Worcester last week and on Sunday he hit his second home run at that level. Since his promotion, the 22-year-old is 7-for-19 (.368) with a double, two home runs, six RBI, five runs scored, a stolen base, and a 4:3 BB:K. He is certainly giving the Red Sox something to think about, as Emmanuel Valdez and Jamie Westbrook aren't hitting, and while Vaughn Grissom will eventually come back from his hamstring injury, he wasn't hitting before that either. Perhaps Yorke will give the offense a boost, as the former first-round draft pick offers both power and speed, hitting 13 home runs last season at Double-A and stealing 18 bases over 110 games.

San Diego Padres rookie center fielder Jackson Merrill logged three hits Monday night, going 3-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored in a 6-1 win versus the Oakland Athletics. Merrill is in the midst of a modest six-game hitting streak, where he has hit .375 with two RBI, three runs scored, and two stolen bases. The young rookie hasn't done much to be fantasy worthy, with his nine stolen bases being the only noticeable stat on the season. Being buried at the bottom of the Padres lineup with only three home runs on the season is why Merrill is only owned in 50% of fantasy leagues. Merrill remains only a deep-league add as a stolen-base threat for the foreseeable future.

Tampa Bay Rays shortstop prospect Carson Williams has been having a good season for Double-A Montgomery, but has been mired in a slump. Over his last 10 games, Williams is 7-for-40 with one RBI and 16 strikeouts. It should not be the biggest worry for fans of Williams as he has been having a good season overall with a .286 batting average that is accompanied by eight homers, 23 RBI and 15 stolen bases. His biggest flaw has been striking out 60 times in 189 at-bats. Despite his recent cold streak, Williams' strong season should put him on the path to see a promotion to Triple-A this season with a path to the big leagues as soon as 2025. The club's first-round pick in 2021 should be rostered in dynasty leagues and is a name for redraft managers to remember in 2025 drafts.

Miami Marlins outfield prospect Jakob Marsee has been having a tough season in Double-A. Marsee, the club's No. 10 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, was acquired from the San Diego Padres as part of the Luis Arraez deal earlier this season, but no matter the affiliation, he has struggled this season. Between both club's and their Double-A affiliations this season, Marsee has hit a combined .182 with five homers, 13 RBI and 23 stolen bases. Marsee has a very patient eye at the plate which leads to good contact, but he doesn't offer much power. At the present time, Marsee is best served as a watch-list candidate in dynasty leagues with MLB Pipeline estimating him to reach the big leagues in 2025.

Cleveland Guardians prospect Chase DeLauter (toe) was placed on the 7-day injured list by Double-A Akron with turf toe in his right foot. The outfielder suffered the injury on May 28 in his first game back from missing time with a fractured foot. DeLauter has managed to play just 17 games this season and has hit .194 with a home run and three RBI. The Guardians' No. 1 overall prospect has had a bit of a lost season so far with the injuries. He showed what he could do last season in the minors, hitting .355 across three levels of the minors in his first season of professional ball. The James Madison product still has plenty of potential, but the injuries are troublesome.

Houston Astros rookie right-hander Spencer Arrighetti came within an out of a quality start in Monday's 4-3 extra-inning loss at the San Francisco Giants. Arrighetti struck out six batters over 5 2/3 innings and allowed one earned run on four hits and three walks, lowering his ERA to 5.33. The rookie's ERA is deceptive, as Arrighetti has sported a 3.19 ERA with 36 strikeouts over 31 innings while allowing just one home run with a 3-1 record over his last six starts. Fantasy managers should strongly consider adding Arrighetti if the right-hander is still available on waiver wires.

Detroit Tigers top prospect Jackson Jobe (hamstring) remains sidelined with a left hamstring strain he suffered on May 1. The 21-year-old right-hander recently overtook Max Clark as the No. 1 prospect in the Tigers system. In five games at Double-A Erie this season, Jobe is (0-1) with a 2.16 ERA and 1.02 WHIP with 24 strikeouts in 16 2/3 innings pitched. He was still getting ramped up before his injury and has yet to go more than four innings in a start this season. If he returns and shows full health, a promotion to Triple-A by the end of the year could be in the cards. He has the look of a future ace and is one of the top pitchers to stash for dynasty managers.

San Francisco Giants left-hander Kyle Harrison notched his seventh quality start after he allowed one earned run over 6 1/3 innings in Monday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the Houston Astros. Harrison scattered four hits and did not allow a walk while striking out three despite recording a no-decision. The promising youngster has been up and down all season with a 4-3 record and a 3.96 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 68 strikeouts and 22 walks over 77 1/3 innings. After managing the Astros, Harrison has a much better matchup against the Angels on Sunday, something fantasy managers (especially DFS gamers) should keep in mind.

Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh launched a walk-off grand slam to lift the team to an 8-4 win over the Chicago White Sox on Monday. Raleigh turned on a 2-0 pitch from White Sox pitcher Jordan Leasure for his 12th dinger for the American League West division leaders. He is hitting .206/.287/.402 with 39 RBI and 26 runs scored on the season. Fantasy managers have to endure the low batting average for Raleigh's power, as he is on pace for 26 homers and 93 RBI, numbers that make Raleigh one of the more productive players at a position light on quality.

Milwaukee Brewers closer Trevor Megill recorded his 10th save in Monday's 3-1 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. Megill needed just 11 pitches (eight for strikes) while allowing a hit over one inning and hasn't allowed an earned run in six of his last eight outings while lowering his ERA to 2.00. Megill has struck out 24 batters and walked four while allowing just one home run over 18 innings. Fantasy managers have complete confidence Megill will continue to deliver quality numbers each time the Brewers call on him to close out games, although he'll eventually return to a setup role whenever Devin Williams (back) can make his season debut.

Oakland Athletics first baseman Tyler Soderstrom's second homer of the season was the sole highlight of Monday's 6-1 loss at the San Diego Padres. Soderstrom went deep off of Dylan Cease in the top of the second inning, his first since he homered against the Texas Rangers on May 8 in his first game after being called up. The rookie is hitting .200/.324/.350, however, Soderstrom is hitting .250/.368/.438 with an .806 OPS in 16 at-bats this month. Soderstrom is a promising source of power, and if the A's continue to be patient, he is capable of production that fantasy managers should keep an eye on as the season goes on in deeper leagues.

Chicago Cubs infield prospect Matt Shaw started off June with a hit in each of the first five games of the month but is hitless over the last three contests. The 22-year-old has a homer and three RBI in June with three stolen bases. The No. 3 prospect in the Cubs system has turned in a solid season so far in his second campaign of professional ball. The first-round pick out of Maryland has six home runs, 24 RBI, and 15 stolen bases at Double-A this season. His .225 average and .711 OPS leaves a bit to be desired, but he has shown plus speed as he adjusts to Double-A pitching. It will be worth monitoring Shaw the rest of the way this season. A promotion to Triple-A by the end of the year could signify that he could reach the majors by 2025. Shaw offers plenty of upside and should factor into the Cubs' big-league plans in the near future.

Seattle Mariners first base prospect Tyler Locklear went 1-for-4 with a double and RBI in his big-league debut versus the Kansas City Royals on Sunday. Locklear was promoted to the big-leagues on Sunday with first baseman Ty France (heel) landing on the 10-day injured list. Manager Scott Servais alluded to the fact that the club brought Locklear up to play and that is encouraging to fantasy managers that roster the teams No. 8 prospect. Locklear has been consistent throughout his minor league career and between Double-A and Triple-A this season has hit .293 with nine homer and 33 RBI. The opportunity appears to be there for Locklear and he is a worth a flier in deeper mixed leagues and dynasty platforms.

Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez was hot at the plate during Sunday's game against the Miami Marlins. The slugging corner infielder went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a steal in the win. The 31-year-old is now up to 10 steals and is showing no signs of slowing down. He's currently on pace for 30 home runs and 20 steals which should keep him in elite territory in terms of fantasy baseball.

Rogers struck out five batters while walking four in what ended up being a no-decision for him. He should keep the good times rolling in his next start against the Washington Nationals.

St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Andre Pallante was fantastic on the mound during Sunday's game against the Colorado Rockies. Pallante allowed three hits and struck out six batters over five scoreless innings in the win. He has been fairly solid through his three starts with six strikeouts in two of those appearances. The assumption is that Pallante will stick in the rotation a little longer until the Cardinals get healthy.
