Gleyber Torres Sat May 3 6:00pm CT

Detroit Tigers second baseman Gleyber Torres (hamstring) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. Torres made an early exit on Thursday due to a hamstring issue and as a result he sat out on Friday. Now, Torres is back and will cover second base and bat third versus right-hander Kyle Hendricks on Saturday. Torres has been crushing the ball this season with a .300/.360/.475 slash line and four home runs with 15 RBI heading into Saturday's contest. Fantasy managers should make sure to get Torres back in their lineups.

Jackson Holliday Sat May 3 5:50pm CT

Baltimore Orioles infielder Jackson Holliday (rest) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the Kansas City Royals. Holliday got off to a slow start to the year, but the young slugger has been hitting better as of late. Holliday has recorded six hits over his last six games, which includes a four-game hit streak that he'll carry into Sunday's contest. In his absence, Jorge Mateo will cover second base and bat ninth versus left-hander Kris Bubic. Fantasy managers should look elsewhere for streaming help as Mateo won't be a great option against Bubic who has pitched well this season.

    From RotoBaller

Michael Busch Sat May 3 5:50pm CT

Chicago Cubs first baseman Michael Busch (rest) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. The left-handed slugger will get the night off after blasting a grand slam during Friday's blowout victory. Busch is stuck in a platoon, but that hasn't stopped him from being a reliable fantasy contributor. On Saturday, Justin Turner will cover first base and bat fifth against left-hander Jose Quintana. Turner hasn't been great with the bat this season and Quintana carries a 1.14 ERA into this game. That being said, fantasy managers should look elsewhere for a streaming option on Saturday.

    From RotoBaller

Noelvi Marte Sat May 3 5:40pm CT

Cincinnati Reds shortstop Noelvi Marte (rest) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the Washington Nationals. Marte was on fire at the plate for about a week where he hit nearly .500 at the plate. Now, Marte is beginning to slow down with the bat and only has two hits over his last four games. That being said, Marte will get the night off on Saturday and will likely be back in the lineup on Sunday. As a result, Santiago Espinal will start at third base and bat eighth versus right-hander Trevor Williams on Saturday.

    From RotoBaller

Salvador Perez Sat May 3 5:30pm CT

Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez (hip) remains out of the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. Perez will miss his second game in a row after exiting early during Thursday's contest due to left hip soreness. The hope is that this is a minor issue and Perez can get back in the lineup within the next few games. In his absence, Freddy Fermin will cover behind the plate and bat eighth versus right-hander Tomoyuki Sugano on Saturday. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups ahead of first pitch.

    From RotoBaller

Josh Bell Sat May 3 5:20pm CT

Washington Nationals first baseman Josh Bell (groin) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the Cincinnati Reds. The switch-hitting slugger was pulled out of Friday's contest due to a groin issue. As a result, Bell will take a seat on Saturday as well, but he's not expected to be placed on the injured list. The Nats are just going to be cautious and give him a little time to rest and recover. In his absence, James Wood will serve as the designated hitter while Alex Call moves into the outfield on Saturday.

    From RotoBaller

Leody Taveras Sat May 3 5:20pm CT

Texas Rangers outfielder Leody Taveras (rest) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the Seattle Mariners. Taveras will head to the bench after going 1-for-7 over his last three games. As a result, Dustin Harris will take over in center field and bat ninth versus right-hander Luis Castillo. The expectation is that Taveras will be back in the lineup on Sunday, but he hasn't done enough with the bat to warrant rostering in most fantasy formats.

Corbin Burnes Sat May 3 5:00pm CT

Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Corbin Burnes (shoulder) is expected to miss his next scheduled start due to right-shoulder inflammation. The 30-year-old had recently expressed feeling some shoulder fatigue to manager Torey Lovullo, and the team decided to have him skip a start, however, they remain hopeful that the 4x All-Star will not require an injured list stint. Burnes has been solid this season, but has not performed like the ace we've grown accustomed to, pitching to a 3.58 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, and a 7.9 percent K-BB% over six starts (32 2/3 IP). Hopefully the extra rest will get him back to form with the Diamondbacks having postseason aspirations.

    From RotoBaller

Anthony Volpe Sat May 3 4:50pm CT

New York Yankees shortstopAnthony Volpe (shoulder) said that he felt a "pop" in his shoulder when he attempted to make a diving play on a grounder between third and short in the eighth inning of Saturday's contest. However, after trainers took a look at him, the 24-year-old remained in the game. Still, X-rays were taken at the stadium, which came back clean, but the team will see how he feels Sunday, and there's a chance the former first-rounder will undergo an MRI. Volpe is slashing .239/.333/.453 on the year with a .346 wOBA and a 126 wRC+, but an 0-for-3 day at the plate on Saturday ended a seven-game hit streak. Fantasy managers will want to monitor to see if the right-handed hitter is in the lineup on Sunday and may want to have a backup plan in place, as he may still get a day of rest even if he doesn't miss time long-term.

    From RotoBaller

Corey Seager Sat May 3 4:30pm CT

Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager (hamstring) has been activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Saturday's gameagainst the Mariners. The 31-year-old has been out since April 22 with a hamstring strain, but will be designated hitter for the Rangers on Saturday and bat third versus Luis Castillo, who the 5x All-Star has had limited success against during his career, going 3-for-15 with a 2:3 BB:K. The 31-year-old was slashing .286/.345/.468 with a .354 wOBA and 131 wRC+ before the injury, and managers will of course want to get him back in their season-long lineups. Josh Smith is starting at shortstop for the Rangers on Saturday.

    From RotoBaller

Tommy Edman Sat May 3 4:10pm CT

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Tommy Edman (ankle) is heading to the 10-day injured list, retroactive to April 30, after suffering an ankle injury on Tuesday earlier this week. It was reported that he "tweaked" his ankle during Tuesday's game, and it didn't seem too serious, but he will now be out for several games in the short term with right ankle inflammation. The 29-year-old was slashing .252/.295/.523 with eight home runs, 24 RBI, 19 runs scored, and two steals over 30 games before the injury, so there is a good amount of production and versatility that the Dodgers will be missing. The good news is that they have offseason acquisition Hyeseong Kim coming up from Triple-A to replace him. Kim had tallied a .252-5-19-22-13 stat line over 28 games, and had made starts at second base, shortstop, and center field, so he can also provide versatility.

Jake Cronenworth Sat May 3 4:00pm CT

San Diego Padres second baseman Jake Cronenworth (rib) is expected to return to action next weekend, potentially Friday against the Rockies. The left-handed hitter has been taking live at-bats at the team's spring training complex in Arizona and will likely complete a short rehab assignment this upcoming week, although no particular destination has been reported yet. The 31-year-old was hitting .257 with a pair of home runs and an 8:9 BB:K through 12 games (44 PA) before the injury. Hitting in the middle of the Padres' order, Cronenworth offers some solid potential fantasy contributions after a 17-homer, 83-RBI season in 2024, so managers looking for help could consider picking him up if he was dropped, and the 2x All-Star is eligible at both 2B and 1B on Yahoo!.

    From RotoBaller

Jackson Merrill Sat May 3 3:40pm CT

San Diego Padres outfielder Jackson Merrill (hamstring) will join Double-A San Antonio for what is expected to be a two-game rehab assignment on Saturday and Sunday. The 22-year-old is expected to rejoin the big league club on Monday against the Yankees, assuming he has no setbacks. The 2024 All-Star was off to a great start this season before the injury, hitting .378 with a 1.090 OPS, .462 wOBA, and a 200 wRC+ over 41 plate appearances, so fantasy managers who spent a lot of draft capital on the left-handed slugger will welcome him back with open arms. Tyler Wade has been filling in at center field and will cede playing time to Merrill once he returns.

    From RotoBaller

Merrill Kelly Sat May 3 1:50pm CT

Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Merrill Kelly is still dealing with cramping issues. The right-hander was removed from Friday's start due to cramping in his right hamstring. Kelly has dealt with this issue for several seasons. After the game, the 36-year-old said, "We've tried all kinds of things. We've done all kinds of labs, all kinds of hydration stuff. If I had a good answer for you guys, I'd stop cramping." Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status over the next few days in case the team decides to push his next scheduled start back. Through his first 37 2/3 innings of work this season, Kelly has posted a 4.06 ERA with a strong 1.06 WHIP. He has struck out just 27 batters. If he were to miss time, Ryne Nelson could be moved to the rotation, as he is currently deployed as a long relief option out of the bullpen.

    From RotoBaller

Luis Campusano Sat May 3 1:30pm CT

The San Diego Padres are promoting catcher Luis Campusano to the major leagues. In a corresponding move, the Padres are optioning infielder/outfielder Connor Joe to Triple-A El Paso. Campusano has spent the first month of the season with Triple-A. The backstop has performed quite well, posting a strong .322/.445/.598 slash line with four doubles, one triple, and six home runs across 25 contests. Last season, Campusano struggled in the major leagues as he posted an underwhelming .227/.281/.361 slash line with eight home runs and a 41:20 K:BB across 91 contests. Under the hood, he generated a .289 xwOBA. Fantasy managers should expect Campusano to share the starting job behind the crease alongside Elias Diaz and Martin Maldonado. As a result, he should only be targeted in deeper two-catcher formats.

    From RotoBaller

Michael McGreevy Sat May 3 1:30pm CT

The St. Louis Cardinals are promoting right-handed pitching prospect Michael McGreevy to the major leagues. In a corresponding move, the Cardinals are sending right-handed pitcher Roddery Munoz to Triple-A Memphis. McGreevy made his MLB debut last summer and performed well during his first taste, holding a strong 1.96 ERA with a 0.78 WHIP across 23 innings of work. Across this stint, he struck out 18 batters and posted a near-perfect 2.3 percent walk rate. He also generated groundballs at a 64.6 percent rate. Earlier this season at Triple-A, McGreevy has held a 4.08 ERA with a 1.29 WHIP across 28 2/3 innings at the Triple-A level. Fantasy managers should expect McGreevy to likely see time in the bullpen, but he could eventually earn a spot start if he continues to pitch well.

Rafael Devers Sat May 3 1:20pm CT

Boston Red Sox designated hitter Rafael Devers is expected to remain at DH even with Triston Casas (knee) expected to miss the remainder of the 2025 campaign. Devers was shifted to a full-time role at the DH spot in spring training when the Red Sox signed third baseman Alex Bregman. However, manager Alex Cora was "very adamant" that Devers is the team's DH, according to Gabrielle Star of The Boston Herald. Through the first 34 games of the regular season, Devers has struggled at times, posting a .242/.365/.445 slash line with five home runs. However, under the hood, Devers has generated an elite .401 xwOBA, which suggests he should see positive regression. With Devers staying at DH, fantasy managers should expect Romy Gonzalez, Connor Wong, and Abraham Toro to see most of the starts at first base.

    From RotoBaller

Brandon Marsh Sat May 3 1:10pm CT

The Philadelphia Phillies have activated outfielder Brandon Marsh (hamstring) off the 10-day injured list prior to their contest against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday evening. In a corresponding move, the Phillies are sending Cal Stevenson to Triple-A. Marsh has been held out of action with a strained right hamstring since April 20. Before his injury, Marsh posted a .095/.220/.167 slash line with just four total hits (one home run). During this slow start, Marsh held a 16:7 K:BB and tallied just five RBI. Under the hood, he generated a low .259 xwOBA with a .159 xBA. Fantasy managers should expect Marsh to have close to an everyday role in center field. However, given his slow start, he should only be targeted in deeper 15+ team formats.

    From RotoBaller

Fernando Tatis Jr. Sat May 3 1:00pm CT

San Diego Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. (forearm) is in the starting nine for Saturday's contest against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Tatis was removed from Friday's game after being hit by a pitch. Following the game, the superstar outfielder underwent X-rays but was able to escape the incident with just a bruise. As a result, Tatis will return to action this afternoon and is slated to cover right field. He will bat in the leadoff spot. The 26-year-old has enjoyed an impressive start to the campaign, posting a .345/.419/.602 slash line with eight home runs and seven stolen bases. Under the hood, Tatis has generated an elite .461 xwOBA. He should be viewed as a top play in DFS facing Pittsburgh southpaw Bailey Falter, who enters this game with a high 5.93 ERA.

    From RotoBaller

Jose Ramirez Sat May 3 12:50pm CT

Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez (ankle) is not in Saturday's lineup when the Guardians continue a series against the Toronto Blue Jays. Ramirez suffered a right ankle sprain during Friday's contest against the Blue Jays and will be held out of action as a result. Fantasy managers should monitor his status leading up to Sunday's game. However, the team will likely opt to monitor his workload over the next week to ensure he does not face any setbacks. Through his first 31 games of the campaign, Ramirez has posted a .274/.323/.451 slash line with five doubles, five home runs, and eight stolen bases. Instead, Will Wilson will get the nod at the hot corner and bat eighth. He is not worth targeting in DFS facing Toronto right-hander Kevin Gausman.
