Unfortunately, it was another rough week for injuries. We saw some more big-name players go down with injuries last week. It stinks. But it is the NFL, so you shouldn’t be too surprised. Let’s hope it starts to tone down in the coming weeks, though. You hate to see it. With that said, here is the latest. . . .

Tyrone Tracy, RB, Giants. Tracy suffered a dislocated shoulder last week and had to leave the game early. He is expected to miss two-to-four weeks of action because of the injury. Cam Skattebo will start and Devin Singletary will serve as the backup while Tracy is out.

Alec Pierce, WR, Colts. Pierce suffered a concussion last week and is in the league's concussion protocol. He did not practice Wednesday and will need to be cleared to play before the week is out. We would get other options ready.

Chris Godwin, WR, Bucs. Godwin continues to practice and was able to already get in a full practice to start the week as he tries to return from his terrible ankle injury suffered last year. He is nearing a return and that should happen this week. You can expect Godwin to be on some sort of snap count when he returns, but he should ramp up his playing time in the coming weeks.

Terry McLaurin, WR, Commanders. McLaurin hurt his quad in last week’s game. He is out of practice to start the week and looking really iffy to play. He is getting opinions from several different options, trying to figure out the severity of the injury. At this point, we would expect him to miss but things could change if he is able to practice some before the week is out.

Jayden Daniels, QB, Commanders. Daniels sat out last week because of a knee injury. He is practicing on a limited basis, so there is a chance he returns. The Commanders won’t rush their star quarterback back too soon, but if he his healthy enough to play, you can expect him out there. Things are trending the right way right now.

Dyami Brown, WR, Jaguars. Brown hurt his shoulder in Week 3 and was unable to practice to open the week. This is not a good sign, putting Brown in real danger of missing the Week 4 game. Keep an eye on the practice notes for the latest but we would get other options ready.

Graham Gano, K, Giants. Gano hurt his groin in pregame warmups last week. He is going to be out Sunday. The Giants are having a competition this week between Younghoe Koo and Jude McAtamney for the right to start. We should know more later in the week.

Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Panthers. McMillan is sitting out practice Wednesday because of a calf injury. This is a new one. Early indications are the injury isn’t too serious, so don’t rule him out just yet. As long as he is able to practice some before the week is out, look for McMillan to play.

CeeDee Lamb, WR, Cowboys. Lamb suffered a sprained ankle last week and early reports are he misses two-to-four weeks of action. So plan for him to be out this week, giving Jalen Tolbert a chance to start opposite George Pickens.

Mike Evans, WR, Bucs. Evans injured his hamstring last week and is expected to miss about a month of action because of the injury. This is a huge loss for the Bucs passing game but the possible return of Godwin this week should help some to make up for the loss of Evans.

Colston Loveland, TE, Bears. Loveland was held out of practice Wednesday because of a hip injury. He is in danger of missing the game this week. He will need to get some practice in before the week is out if he hopes to have any chance to play.

Jauan Jennings, WR, 49ers. Jennings missed the game last week because of ankle and shoulder injuries. He is out of practice to begin the week, so he seems likely to miss another week of action, barring a big turnaround late in the week.

Ricky Pearsall, WR, 49ers. Pearsall was held out of Wednesday's practice due to a knee injury. We aren’t sure the severity of this injury yet, but don’t believe it is too serious. We wouldn’t rule him out for Week 4. Just make sure he gets in some sort of practice before the week is out.

Xavier Worthy, WR, Chiefs. Worthy is back practicing this week and practicing in full. His shoulder is doing much better. He seems right on track to be able to play the Week 4 game, his first since the season opener.

Ja'Tavion Sanders, TE, Panthers. Sanders suffered an ankle injury last week and is expected to miss multiple weeks. Tommy Tremble will start for the Panthers while Sanders is out of action.

Zach Charbonnet, RB, Seahawks. Charbonnet is back practicing this week but listed as questionable ahead of Thursday's game. He should be ready to play this week but might be a tad limited because of the foot injury. He might not get quite the 50/50 split with Kenneth Walker in his first game back from injury.

Brock Purdy, QB, 49ers. Purdy has been out the last two weeks because of toe and shoulder injuries. He is making progress and practicing on a limited basis this week. He has a chance to return this week but it remains up in the air who will start between him and Mac Jones. Both are battling injuries. The 49ers should make some sort of announcement before the week is out, so keep an eye on the notes for the latest.

Mac Jones, QB, 49ers. Jones has a knee injury and has been limited in practice this week. It is not certain who will be healthy enough to start for the 49ers this week. As mentioned, it is hopeful the 49ers make an announcement in the coming days.

Starts, Sits, Sleepers: Week 6

Player Notes
CeeDee Lamb Oct 9 5:20pm CT
CeeDee Lamb

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb (ankle) missed another day of practice this week on Thursday. Lamb has made progress from a high-ankle sprain that has kept him sidelined for each of the last two games, but he's not on track to make his return in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers. Per Joe Hoyt of The Dallas Morning News, the 26-year-old Pro Bowler continues to focus on conditioning and resistance training before he can think about getting back on the field. Lamb has not officially been ruled out for the weekend in Carolina, but that is likely coming on Friday. Fantasy managers can only hope that Lamb will make more progress next week and return to face the division-rival Washington Commanders in Week 7. George Pickens will continue to operate as the WR1 in Dallas if Lamb misses another game, with tight end Jake Ferguson also seeing a heavy target share. Jalen Tolbert and Ryan Flournoy will battle for the WR2 role if KaVontae Turpin (foot) misses a second straight game.

Brock Bowers Oct 9 5:10pm CT
Brock Bowers

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers (knee) is missing his fourth straight practice on Thursday, according to Ryan McFadden of ESPN. "We're hopeful we'll get Brock back soon. He's working his tail off in the rehab process, so we'll see how that goes," said offensive coordinator Chip Kelly. Bowers missed practice last Thursday and Friday before missing his first game of his career in the Week 5 blowout loss to the Indianapolis Colts. With two straight DNPs to begin this week, it's looking likely that the second-year tight end will miss a second straight contest this Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, unless he's able to practice on Friday. The 22-year-old's injury stems from when he injured his knee back in Week 1. The good news for the Raiders is that if Bowers sits out in Week 6, they should be getting Michael Mayer back after he cleared the NFL's concussion protocol this week. Mayer could be worth TE2 streaming consideration in deeper leagues if Bowers is inactive again.

Mac Jones Oct 9 5:00pm CT
Mac Jones

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Mac Jones (knee, oblique) was in uniform again for Thursday's practice, but he didn't do much throwing during individual periods in the early portion that was open to the media, according to Nick Wagoner of ESPN. Wagoner added that Jones really didn't do anything behind soft tossing on Thursday. The 27-year-old came out of last Thursday night's upset win over the Los Angeles Rams pretty banged up, but the Niners think he should be OK to make a fourth start in Week 6 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brock Purdy (toe) has yet to practice this week and looks to be on track to miss his fourth game of the year after aggravating his turf-toe injury in Week 4. Jones will likely be listed as limited in practice for the second straight day, but he should be good to go this weekend. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect an encore against Tampa after Jones cooked against L.A.'s defense in Week 5.

Jauan Jennings Oct 9 4:50pm CT
Jauan Jennings

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings (ankle, ribs) was in uniform and taking part on Thursday in the portion of practice open to the media, according to Nick Wagoner of ESPN. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said before Thursday's practice that Jennings might be limited on Thursday before returning to play on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6. Jennings did not play in last Thursday night's win over the Los Angeles Rams and didn't take part in practice on Wednesday. The 28-year-old's status for this weekend is still up in the air, but he appears closer to playing against the Bucs than fellow wideout Ricky Pearsall (knee), who hasn't practiced at all this week. If Jennings is active in Week 6, he figures to operate as San Fran's No. 1 wideout, assuming he's not limited at all by his injuries. However, Jennings could be taking passes from backup quarterback Mac Jones again, which would make him an even more shaky flex play in fantasy.

Brock Purdy Oct 9 4:40pm CT
Brock Purdy

For the second straight day of practice this week, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy (toe) did not practice with the rest of the team, according to Cam Inman of the Bay Area News Group. However, Purdy was seen doing conditioning on a side field in cleats. While it's good to see Purdy doing something on a side field, a second straight DNP this week is making it likely that he is going to miss a second straight game and fourth of the season after aggravating his turf-toe injury in his return in Week 4. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect the 25-year-old to play in Week 6 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and it's possible he won't be ready for Week 7 against the Atlanta Falcons, either. Mac Jones (knee) has been playing at less than 100%, but he torched the Rams' defense in a win last Thursday night and looks set for his fourth start of the year on Sunday.

Ricky Pearsall Oct 9 4:40pm CT
Ricky Pearsall

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall (knee) did not practice with the rest of the team for the second straight day this week on Thursday, according to Cam Inman of the Bay Area News Group. Instead, Pearsall was doing conditioning on a side field with a support sleeve on his right leg. The 25-year-old second-year pass-catcher suffered a PCL injury in the Week 4 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars and was held out of the Week 5 win over the Los Angeles Rams last Thursday night. He has not given up hope yet of playing this Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but it's not looking good for his chances right now. The Niners also were without Jauan Jennings (ankle, ribs) a week ago, which led to Kendrick Bourne having a career day as quarterback Mac Jones' top target. Jennings has a better shot at returning this weekend, but if Pearsall misses another game, Bourne could be in line for another big day.

Dante Fowler Oct 9 4:23pm CT
Dante Fowler

Dallas Cowboys OG Tyler Booker (ankle), DE Dante Fowler (illness), WR CeeDee Lamb (ankle), QB Joe Milton III (non-injury), WR Jonathan Mingo (knee), LB Jack Sanborn (concussion), RB Miles Sanders (ankle, knee) and WR KaVontae Turpin (foot) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 9. CB DaRon Bland (shoulder), DE Jadeveon Clowney (hip), OT Ajani Cornelius (knee), CB Trevon Diggs (knee), DE James Houston (knee), DE Marshawn Kneeland (knee), OG Tyler Smith (knee), S Juanyeh Thomas (ankle) and S Donovan Wilson (elbow, knee) were limited during practice. CB Caelen Carson (knee), OT Tyler Guyton (concussion), LB Kenneth Murray (concussion) and DE Sam Williams (shoulder) fully participated in practice.

Amon-Ra St. Brown Oct 9 4:10pm CT
Amon-Ra St. Brown

Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown (wrist) practiced in full on Thursday after missing the team's Wednesday practice due to a wrist injury. The 25-year-old appears to be trending towards being available to play in Week 6 against the Kansas City Chiefs. St. Brown is the unquestioned number one option in the passing game for Detroit with 35 catches for 407 yards and six touchdowns on 41 targets through five games this season. If things were to reverse course and St. Brown were to miss time, Lions wideouts Jameson Williams and Isaac TeSlaa would likely see an uptick in target share, as would tight end Sam LaPorta and running back Jahmyr Gibbs. Assuming St. Brown can play on Sunday, he profiles as a must-start fantasy wide receiver in Week 6 against Kansas City.

From RotoBaller

David Njoku Oct 9 4:03pm CT
David Njoku

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 9.

Fantasy Spin: Njoku is coming off a productive Week 5 performance and seems to have a good connection with Dillon Gabriel. He should see a handful of targets this week against the Pittsburgh Steelers and can be a low-end No. 1 tight end in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Shelby Harris Oct 9 4:03pm CT
Shelby Harris

Cleveland Browns S Damontae Kazee (illness) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 9. WR Malachi Corley (groin), OT Jack Conklin (non-injury), DE Myles Garrett (ankle), DT Michael Hall Jr. (knee), DT Shelby Harris (knee) and OT KT Leveston (calf) were limited during practice. OG Joel Bitonio (non-injury), DT Maliek Collins (non-injury), S Grant Delpit (ankle), TE David Njoku (knee), C Ethan Pocic (neck), RB Raheim Sanders (ankle, knee) and CB Denzel Ward (hip) fully participated in practice.

From TheHuddle

Alec Pierce Oct 9 4:00pm CT
Alec Pierce

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce (concussion) practiced in full for the second straight day on Thursday. Pierce has missed each of the Colts' last two games due to a concussion, but it appears he's trending towards returning in Week 6 against the Arizona Cardinals. The 25-year-old has recorded nine catches for 171 yards on 13 targets in three games so far this season. If he were to miss additional time, Colts wideouts Ashton Dulin and Adonai Mitchell would likely see the majority of the team's WR3 snaps alongside Michael Pittman Jr. and Josh Downs. Assuming Pierce is good to go in Week 6, he profiles as a desperation boom/bust flex option for fantasy managers against Arizona.

From RotoBaller

Zay Jones Oct 9 3:53pm CT
Zay Jones

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (foot) and DE Darius Robinson (pectoral) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 9. OG Evan Brown (hamstring), P Blake Gillikin (back), OG Will Hernandez (knee), CB Will Johnson (groin), WR Zay Jones (knee), CB Max Melton (hamstring), LB Cody Simon (knee), OT Jonah Williams (foot) and LB Mack Wilson (ankle) were limited during practice. OT Kelvin Beachum (non-injury) fully participated in practice.

From TheHuddle

Jaylen Warren Oct 9 3:50pm CT
Jaylen Warren

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren (knee) practiced in full for the second straight day on Thursday. The 26-year-old missed Pittsburgh's Week 4 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings due to a knee injury, but it appears the team's Week 5 bye served him well. The Steelers are currently prepping for a Week 6 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. Warren has recorded 274 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown on 54 total touches in three games this season. In Warren's absence in Week 4, Steelers running back Kenneth Gainwell had a monster game, scoring two touchdowns and recording 134 scrimmage yards. Gainwell's performance may lead to him stealing some touches away from Warren once Warren returns. If he's able to play, Warren profiles as a low-end RB2/high-end flex option for fantasy managers in Week 6 against Cleveland.

From RotoBaller

Noah Brown Oct 9 3:43pm CT
Noah Brown

Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin (quadriceps), RB Chris Rodriguez Jr. (calf) and WR Deebo Samuel (heel) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 9. TE John Bates (shoulder) and WR Noah Brown (groin, knee) were limited during practice. OG Samuel Cosmi (knee) and QB Jayden Daniels (knee) fully participated in practice.

From TheHuddle

Calvin Austin III Oct 9 3:40pm CT
Calvin Austin III

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Calvin Austin III (shoulder) did not practice for the second straight day on Thursday due to a shoulder injury. Austin III suffered the injury in Week 4, so it's not a great sign that it's still keeping him out of practice with Pittsburgh coming off a Week 5 bye. The 26-year-old has recorded 10 catches for 139 yards and two touchdowns on 17 targets in four games so far this season. If Austin III is unable to play in Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns, Steelers wideouts Roman Wilson, Ben Skowronek, and Scotty Miller could all see an uptick in snaps. However, the only Steelers wide receiver that should be on the radar of fantasy managers in Week 6 against Cleveland remains DK Metcalf.

From RotoBaller

Noah Brown Oct 9 3:33pm CT
Noah Brown

Washington Commanders WR Noah Brown (groin, knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 9.

Fantasy Spin: Brown has missed several games because of his injuries but appears to have a chance to play in Week 6. He will see a few targets if he is active for the game but can be avoided in most fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Dalton Kincaid Oct 9 3:30pm CT
Dalton Kincaid

Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid (oblique) was officially listed as limited on the team's Thursday injury report due to an oblique injury. The Bills will play the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6 on Monday night, so Kincaid has an extra day to recover this week. The 25-year-old has recorded 20 catches for 287 yards and three touchdowns on 24 targets through five games this season. If he were to miss time, Bills tight ends Dawson Knox and Jackson Hawes would both likely see an uptick in snaps. Assuming Kincaid can play on Monday, he profiles as a solid fantasy TE1 in Week 6 against Atlanta.

From RotoBaller

Zach Cunningham Oct 9 3:23pm CT
Zach Cunningham

Detroit Lions CB Terrion Arnold (shoulder), LB Zach Cunningham (hamstring), OT Taylor Decker (shoulder), S Kerby Joseph (knee) and RB Sione Vaki (groin) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 9. S Brian Branch (ankle), CB Avonte Maddox (hamstring), OT Giovanni Manu (knee) and WR Kalif Raymond (neck) were limited during practice. DT Alim McNeill (knee) and WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (wrist) fully participated in practice.

From TheHuddle

Taysom Hill Oct 9 3:20pm CT
Taysom Hill

New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore said that tight end/quarterback Taysom Hill has "been taking reps" at quarterback and is "definitely available to be a backup quarterback" to Saints starter Spencer Rattler. Hill famously played quarterback in college and started nine games under center for New Orleans across the 2020 and 2021 seasons. The 35-year-old completed a 19-yard pass in Week 5, his first game of 2025 after being activated off the physically unable to perform list. Hill is officially third on the Saints quarterback depth chart behind Rattler and rookie Tyler Shough. Most likely, Hill will see most of his touches as a rusher and receiver in a gadget role. Still, any significant playing time at quarterback would make Hill a must-start player in fantasy, as he would likely still be eligible at the tight end position in most league formats.

From RotoBaller

Alvin Kamara Oct 9 3:20pm CT
Alvin Kamara

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (ankle) was back at practice on Thursday after suffering an ankle injury during the team's practice on Wednesday, according to ESPN's Katherine Terrell. Kamara was officially listed on the Wednesday injury report as limited, but it appears he's trending towards being fine for the team's Week 6 matchup against the New England Patriots. Kamara has recorded 360 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown on 90 total touches through five games this season. If he were to miss any time, Saints running back Kendre Miller would likely dominate backfield touches in New Orleans. Assuming Kamara will be good to go on Sunday, he profiles as a low-end fantasy RB2 in Week 6 against New England.
