Monangai is getting more work
This is not the best week to be scouring the waiver wire. There aren’t a ton of great options out there for teams. It should not be a big surprise to see this happen from time to time, though, especially as the season progresses. It gets tougher and tougher to find quality options. Just something to keep in mind going forward. We never said it was easy being a fantasy owner, right?
QUARTERBACK
Joe Flacco, Bengals (27.8% owned). Flacco is settling in as the starter for the Bengals and looking better and better each week. He had a three-touchdown game last week, scoring 29.4 fantasy points. He has 20-plus fantasy points each of his first two games with Cincinnati. The Bengals are going to throw the ball a ton, so Flacco has some real fantasy potential going forward, especially if you consider the receivers he has to work with on a weekly basis.
RUNNING BACK
Kyle Monangai, Bears (40.9% owned). Monangai was a lot more involved in the offense last week, taking advantage of his chances. He ran 13 times for 81 yards and a touchdown. D’Andre Swift wasn’t quite 100 percent healthy, giving Monangai more chances. The Bears could be going with more of a timeshare going forward, though, if Monangai keeps playing well. He is definitely worth adding for teams looking for running back help.
Brashard Smith, Chiefs (36.1% owned). Smith is becoming a little more involved in the Chiefs offense. He has at least three receptions four straight games. He also had a season-high 14 carries for 39 yards last week. Kareem Hunt was banged up in the Week 7 game, which could open the door for Smith to get a little more work as well. Smith is becoming more and more of a factor in the Chiefs offense.
WIDE RECEIVER
Xavier Legette, Panthers (15.7% owned). Legette more than doubled his season stats last week, catching nine passes for 92 yards on 11 targets. He has scores two of three games and is becoming a bigger part of the Panthers passing game. He might be worth a speculative add for fantasy owners.
Parker Washington, Jaguars (5.1% owned). Washington hit double-digit fantasy points for the second time of the season last week. He had four receptions for 52 yards and ran three times for 10 yards. He gets his weekly looks, so he has a decent floor. Washington could be worth a spot start or two in the right matchup.
Chimere Dike, Titans (1.5% owned). Dike got the start last week because of injury and made the most of it. He had four receptions for 70 yards and a touchdown. If he keeps starting, Dike has some potential to help fantasy teams in an expanded role. He has multiple receptions three straight games.
Alec Pierce, Colts (19.8% owned). Pierce got the most work of the season last week, finishing with five receptions for 98 yards on 10 targets. He did not have more than five targets in a game before Week 7. Pierce has topped 65 yards three games. He is a big-play threat in this offense and gets his weekly chances to make that big play. He has spot start appeal.
Tez Johnson, Bucs (29.4% owned). Johnson has found the end zone two straight games. He is becoming a much bigger part of the offense because of injuries at receiver for the Bucs. And he is making plays with his chances, earning more opportunities going forward. He is an exciting young player for the Bucs.
TIGHT END
Pat Freiermuth, Steelers (8.4% owned). Freiermuth had a monster game his last time out, catching five passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns on six targets. He did not have more than 30 yards in a game since Week 2, so this performance was a bit of a surprise. But Freiermuth has a track record of success and plays in an offense that uses the tight end often. He could have a few more big games the rest of the way.
Jonnu Smith, Steelers (30.5% owned). Smith scored his second touchdown of the season last week. He has at least three receptions all but a game this year. The Steelers use a lot of multiple tight end sets, so Smith plays a lot despite not being first on the depth chart at tight end. His ceiling isn’t huge in this offense, but he has a decent floor and a knack for finding the end zone.
Noah Fant, Bengals (5.3% owned). Fant is the top tight end for the Bengals right now because of injury. He had four receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown last week. He has four receptions each of his last two games and has four games total with four or more catches. Fant has some sport start potential for fantasy teams as long as he is starting in this pass-first offense.
Oronde Gadsden, Chargers (11.7% owned). Gadsden had seven receptions for the second straight game last week. He has been targeted 17 times his last two games, catching 14 passes for 232 yards and a touchdown. Gadsden is quickly becoming a top target in the Chargers passing game. He is going to be a fantasy factor the rest of the way.
Theo Johnson, Giants (30.7% owned). Johnson scored a touchdown for the third time in four games last week. He had three receptions for 66 yards and a touchdown on seven targets. He has become a go-to target for new quarterback Jaxson Dart and his getting his weekly looks.

Washington Commanders tight end Zach Ertz has scored in back-to-back games and continues to produce at age 34. Ertz will be joined back by top wide receivers Terry McLaurin, who returns from a four-game absence due to a quadriceps injury, and Deebo Samuel Sr., who missed Week 7 with a heel injury. The veteran tight end will miss his connection with quarterback Jayden Daniels, who has been ruled out with a hamstring injury. Ertz was quiet in Marcus Mariota's two starts this season, catching five of seven targets for 59 yards. He could benefit from McLaurin's vertical ability back in the lineup to open up space underneath, but Kansas City has been a tough matchup for opposing tight ends, allowing the fourth fewest points per game. Ertz is ranked as RotoBaller's TE13 for Week 8.
From RotoBaller
Washington Commanders wide receiver Chris Moore will likely see his targets go down on Monday night against the Chiefs with the return of both Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel Sr. Moore has essentially replaced Noah Brown (groin) as one of the team's primary outside wide receivers, so his snap and route participation share will likely remain high in Week 8. The 32-year-old wideout hasn't been super productive in his extended run of playing time, catching seven of 16 targets for 130 yards and a touchdown in five games. Moore could have some value in deeper leagues solely because he is still likely to run a decent amount of routes, but it's a tough matchup against a Chiefs defense that has allowed the second-fewest PPR points per game to opposing wide receivers.
From RotoBaller
Washington Commanders rookie wide receiver Jaylin Lane had some positive moments in his extended opportunity in Week 7 against the Dallas Cowboys, catching three of six targets for 60 yards. Lane played easily his highest snap share of the season at 70.3% and led Washington in receiving yards. The fourth-round rookie out of Virginia Tech has been a key contributor on special teams and has made some plays on offense, with Washington dealing with injuries to their top three wide receivers. Both Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel Sr. are set to return in Week 8 against the Chiefs, likely relegating Lane back to a depth role. There is still plenty of intrigue for Lane in dynasty leagues, but he can be dropped in redraft leagues.
From RotoBaller
Washington Commanders wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. has been cleared from the injury report ahead of Monday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs. Samuel missed only one game due to the heel injury that he's been managing for a few weeks, and will be joined by fellow wide receiver Terry McLaurin, who returns from a four-game absence because of a quadriceps injury. Samuel has enjoyed an outstanding bounce-back season with Washington through six games, catching 34 of his 43 targets for 315 yards and three touchdowns, and has added eight rushes for 45 yards and another score on the ground. McLaurin's return could take away a few targets, but Samuel has operated as the focal point of the passing attack in his absence. He's shown more downfield ability this year and continues to be one of the best YAC threats in the league. RotoBaller ranks him as WR25 in PPR leagues for Week 8 against a Chiefs defense that has allowed the second-fewest PPR points per game to opposing wide receivers.
From RotoBaller
Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin is set to return from a four-game absence with a quadriceps injury in Week 8 against the Kansas City Chiefs. McLaurin will provide a much-needed boost to Washington's passing attack after a tough offensive showing in Week 7 against the Cowboys. The 30-year-old wideout was off to a slow start in the three games he played before getting injured, catching 10 of 17 targets for 149 yards. A slower start was to be expected, as McLaurin missed most of training camp while negotiating a new contract extension. Washington's top wide receiver will be joined back by Deebo Samuel Sr., who missed last week with a heel injury, but will be without his star quarterback, Jayden Daniels (hamstring). McLaurin has had success with Mariota under center, however. He caught six of six targets for 98 yards in Week 7 of last season and then seven of eight targets for 57 yards and a touchdown in just the second half in Week 18. In Week 3 this season, he caught three of four targets for 74 yards with Mariota before getting injured, and nearly had a long touchdown. It's a tough spot for McLaurin to make his return, as the Chiefs have allowed the second-fewest PPR points per game to opposing wide receivers. McLaurin comes in as the WR30 in RotoBaller's rankings for Week 8.

According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, the NFL will review the "practice and participation situation" surrounding Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson (hamstring). He was initially listed as a full participant at practice on Friday, implying there was a chance he would be active in Week 8 versus the Chicago Bears. However, after the signal-caller was ruled out on Saturday, the designation was retroactively modified from "full" to "limited." The Ravens denied any malicious intent, indicating that Jackson was a full participant, although after speaking with the league office, his status was changed since he didn't take reps with the starters. Rapoport added that the NFL "reviews any matter involving a change to a player's status," suggesting there may not be anything more to this story. Still, it's something to monitor moving ahead. As of now, Jackson is expected to suit up for the Week 9 matchup with the Miami Dolphins, with Tyler Huntley taking over under center against the Bears.
From RotoBaller
Washington Commanders running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. got back into the rotation in Week 7 against the Dallas Cowboys, handling three carries for 12 yards and scoring his first touchdown of the season. The touchdown came in garbage time, but it was an impressive play to reach across the goal line. Rodriguez played only one offensive snap in Week 6 against the Bears, but that could have been more related to his health, as he didn't practice at all during the week leading up to the game. He was cleared from the injury report ahead of Week 7 and should be all set for Monday night against the Chiefs. The 25-year-old has played almost exclusively on early downs this season for Washington and could mix in more with rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt going forward. Rodriguez is a better play in standard leagues because he doesn't add much as a receiver. He could find success if he gets enough opportunities against a Chiefs run defense that ranks 22nd in rush success rate (42.6%).
From RotoBaller
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver KhaDarel Hodge (pectoral) is no longer listed on the injury report ahead of Sunday's clash with the Miami Dolphins. The 30-year-old appeared on the Week 8 edition of the injury report because of a pec issue. However, he logged full practice sessions on Thursday and Friday. With that in mind, Hodge hasn't done much of anything for fantasy managers this season, logging 26 offensive snaps while being targeted only once. There's a chance Drake London (hip) won't play after being downgraded to questionable on Saturday. Still, even if London can't get on the field, Hodge isn't expected to benefit.
From RotoBaller
Washington Commanders running back Jeremy McNichols has been an important player this season, playing a vital role in pass protection and as a receiving option out of the backfield. McNichols has played at least 25% of offensive snaps over the last five weeks. He had his highest combined yardage total since Week 3 in last week's game against the Dallas Cowboys, handling two carries for 22 yards and catching two of three targets for 23 yards. The 29-year-old has recorded seven targets over the last two weeks and has made big plays when his number has been called. His involvement in the passing game keeps him somewhat relevant in deeper leagues, but he hasn't had more than five touches in any game this season. McNichols will be a touchdown-dependent option in deeper PPR formats for Monday Night Football against the Chiefs.
From RotoBaller
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Charlie Jones (ribs) is off the injury report heading into Sunday's game against the New York Jets. The wideout has been banged up all year, so his presence on the injury report isn't anything new. However, he hasn't done much for managers all season, logging only four offensive snaps, leaving him irrelevant for fantasy purposes. That's not expected to change anytime soon, with Jones in line to see the most action as a member of the special teams unit.
From RotoBaller
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Scotty Miller (finger) won't play in Sunday's meeting with the Green Bay packers. The wideout practiced in full on Wednesday. Unfortunately, he injured his finger during practice on Thursday and wasn't available for Friday's session. Miller has appeared in six games throughout the 2025 campaign. However, he hasn't done much, catching only one of two targets for nine yards, so his absence won't impact fantasy managers. Rookie Ke'Shawn Williams could be in line for extra snaps with Miller out of the equation, although he still likely won't see enough action to be relevant from a fantasy standpoint.
From RotoBaller
Washington Commanders rookie running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt broke out for 150 total yards and two touchdowns in Week 5 against the Chargers, but he has disappointed in the past two weeks despite favorable matchups. Croskey-Merritt is still the clear No. 1 back in Washington, posting his three highest rushing attempt and route participation rates of the season over the past three weeks. The seventh-round rookie has still been one of the most efficient runners in the league despite the two-week lull, posting the third-highest success rate (60.3%) and eighth-highest explosive rush rate (6.8%) among running backs with at least 50 carries. He's not as involved in the passing game, which lowers his ceiling a tad, but he is still capable of delivering a big fantasy performance. He'll face a Kansas City Chiefs defense that hasn't been great on a down-to-down basis, ranking 22nd in rush success rate (42.6%). Croskey-Merritt ranks as RotoBaller's RB23 in PPR leagues for Week 8.
From RotoBaller
New York Giants kicker Graham Gano (groin) has been activated off the injured reserve on Saturday. Gano is currently considered questionable to play during the Week 8 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. However, the fact the Giants didn't elevate another kicker means Gano is likely to play. Gano has been sidelined since suffering a groin injury in Week 3. Before that, Gano was sharp as he knocked down all nine of his kicks during the first three games of the season. He should offer streaming value if active for Sunday's game.
From RotoBaller
Washington Commanders kicker Matt Gay (back) is currently considered questionable ahead of the Week 8 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Gay is a late addition to the injury report as he wasn't on there until Saturday. The Commanders aren't currently rostering another kicker, so they'd need to sign one before Monday's game. The team will likely wait and see how Gay feels on Sunday before making a decision. Fantasy managers who have Gay rostered should probably get another kicker just in case he's unable to play.
From RotoBaller
Dallas Cowboys defensive back Trevon Diggs (concussion, knee) has been placed on the injured reserve on Saturday. Diggs sat out last week's game due to a concussion and now he'll miss at least the next four games. This is a tough blow to a Cowboys defense that was already struggling. The hope is that Diggs will return at some point in November. In the meantime, Caelen Carson figures to see an increased role in the secondary. The 23-year-old is certainly going to be a downgrade compared to Diggs, but hopefully he can step up and help.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets wide receiver Josh Reynolds (hip) was placed on the injured reserve on Saturday. Reynolds popped up on the injury report on Friday due to a hip issue. It appears that the injury was pretty serious as Reynolds will miss the next four games. That being said, Reynolds won't be able to return until the last game in November. The Jets will now be using a wide receiver group of Arian Smith, Allen Lazard, and Tyler Johnson for Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Reynolds can be dropped in most fantasy formats as he wasn't doing much anyway.
From RotoBaller
Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young (ankle) is currently listed as doubtful ahead of Sunday's Week 8 matchup against the Buffalo Bills. Unless a miracle happens, Young figures to be watching from the sideline this weekend. However, the Panthers are hopeful that Young is only going to miss one week of action. The team is targeting Young to return for the Week 9 contest against the Green Bay Packers. In the meantime, Andy Dalton will almost certainly be under center for Carolina this weekend. The 37-year-old isn't a recommended streaming option, but hopefully Young will be back after this game.
From RotoBaller
Washington Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota will make his third start of the season on Monday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs. With Jayden Daniels (hamstring) ruled out early in the week, Washington will rely on the 31-year-old quarterback for a big primetime matchup. Mariota led Washington to a 1-1 record and has been solid in both of his starts, completing 31 of 48 pass attempts for 363 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception while also adding value with his legs, with eight carries for 60 yards and a rushing score. And he'll be getting a big boost in Week 8 with both top wide receivers, Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) and Deebo Samuel Sr. (heel), cleared from the injury report and set to play on Monday. Mariota will face a Chiefs defense that just pitched a shutout in Week 7 against the Raiders, but has been mediocre against the pass outside of that game, ranking 21st in dropback success rate (48.9%). The veteran QB has value as a streamer in a potential high-scoring matchup, ranking as RotoBaller's QB14 for Week 8.
From RotoBaller
Chicago Bears kicker Cairo Santos (thigh) is currently listed as questionable ahead of the Week 8 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. Santos was able to practice in full on Thursday and Friday. Despite that, Santos still carries the questionable tag into this contest. It's worth noting that the Bears haven't elevated Jake Moody from the practice squad. That means, Santos appears to be trending in the right direction for Sunday's game. Santos has missed each of the last two games due to a thigh issue. Santos could offer more value than normal this weekend considering how bad the Ravens defense has been this season.
From RotoBaller
Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker will face the Washington Commanders on Monday night in Week 8. Butker converted all four of his extra-point attempts and his lone field goal attempt against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7. The Chiefs kicker has missed a kick in five of seven games this season, but he's coming off a game where he went 5-for-5. Butker should be involved against the Commanders, given that the Chiefs are nearly 12-point home favorites on Monday night. The Commanders will be without their star quarterback, Jayden Daniels, which could mean more Chiefs possessions and more Butker kicks. Butker is ranked K2 in our RotoBaller rankings, making him a top-end kicker option in Week 8.
