Goff has monster Week 2 game

Well, that was more like it. We had a ton of big fantasy performances this week after several duds in the opener. This made for a lot more high-scoring fantasy games. Hopefully, you were able to take advantage of some of those big games and win big in Week 2.

Packers 27, Commanders 18

Fantasy Stud: Tucker Kraft. Kraft had a huge Week 2, catching six passes for 124 yards and a touchdown. Kraft led the way in the passing game for the Packers. He showed his big-time potential in the game. Kraft is on his way to a breakout season and could even be a top-five fantasy tight end if all goes well for him

Fantasy Dud: Matthew Golden. Golden had another disappointing performance in a game the Packers threw for nearly 300 yards and scored 27 points. Golden didn’t catch a pass anf ran twice for 15 yards. He got all sorts of preseason hype but has not lived up to those expectations to start the season.

Game Notes: Austin Ekeler suffered a torn Achilles’ during the game. He is done for the season and might have played his last game in the NFL. This is going to be a tough injury for him to return.

Jayden Reed broke his collarbone early in the game. He is expected to miss six-to-eight weeks of action because of the injury.

Seahawks 31, Steelers 17

Fantasy Stud: Kenneth Walker. Walker had a great game, helping ease the concern for his owners after his Week 1 performance. He ran 13 times for 105 yards and a touchdown. Walker also caught a pass for 13 yards. He showed his explosiveness in the game. Walker could be getting more and more work going forward for Seattle

Fantasy Dud: Zach Charbonnet. Many were high on Charbonnet after last week, getting more touches and the goal-line work for the Seahawks. Well, he got more touches again this week but didn’t produce near that of Kenneth Walker. Charbonnet ran 15 times for just 10 yards. And he didn’t catch a pass in the game. You still have to like the usage but it is a concern to see him do little while his teammate ran wild with less work.

Game Notes: Jaxon Smith-Njigba hit the 100-yard mark. He had eight receptions for 103 yards.

Sam Darnold played a strong game, going 22-of-33 for 295 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions. It was an impressive performance on the road for Darnold.

Bills 30, Jets 10

Fantasy Stud: James Cook. Cook was one of the few offensive stars in this one. He ran 21 times for 132 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught a pass for three yards. Cook has scores each of his first two games and topped 20 fantasy points each of those games. He is looking like a top-five fantasy back right now

Fantasy Dud: Josh Allen. His team won big but Allen wasn’t a help to his fantasy owners. He was 14-of-25 for 148 yards without a touchdown. He did run six times for 59 yards but that wasn’t enough to make up for his poor passing numbers. Allen also appeared to break his nose during the game but was able to return.

Game Notes: Justin Fields had a game to forget. He left early because of a concussion but did nothing before the injury. He was 3-of-11 for 27 yards and ran five times for 49 yards.

The Jets rushing game did little. Breece Hall led the team in carries with 10 but managed just 29 yards. Braelon Allen had just two rushes for 11 yards.

Ravens 41, Browns 17

Fantasy Stud: Lamar Jackson. Jackson was held in check on the ground but that didn’t matter for fantasy owners. He was great through the air, going 19-of-29 for 225 yards and four touchdowns without an interception

Fantasy Dud: Derrick Henry. Henry was a huge disappointment, especially after his huge Week 1. He ran just 11 times for 24 yards and didn’t catch a pass. It was a really bad fantasy performance from Henry. You just expect better from him, but it happens.

Game Notes: Quinshon Judkins made his NFL debut and looked pretty good with his limited work. He ran 10 times for 61 yards and caught three passes for 10 yards. Judkins should just get more work going forward.

Zay Flowers kept up his hot ways, catching seven passes for 75 yards. Flowers has 14 receptions his first two games.

Rams 33, Titans 19

Fantasy Stud: Davante Adams. Adams had a great game. He had six receptions for 106 yards and a touchdown. He was targeted 13 times in the game. Adams showed his potential when getting the looks in this offense. He remains an elite receiver in this league

Fantasy Dud: Kyren Williams. Williams got plenty of touches but didn’t produce a whole lot and missed out on a goal-line opportunity. He ran 17 times for 66 yards and caught two passes for 14 yards. He scored just 10 fantasy points. Williams has failed to top 70-rushing yards in a game this year. He is off to a bit of a slow start

Game Notes: Cam Ward had a better showing in his second NFL start. He was 19-of-33 for 175 yards and a touchdown without an interception. He ran four times for eight yards.

Elic Ayomanor had four receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown. He is emerging as a legit target for Ward as the starter opposite Calvin Ridley.

Lions 52, Bears 21

Fantasy Stud: Amon-Ra St. Brown. St. Brown had a monster game. He had nine receptions for 115 yards and three touchdowns. He carried fantasy teams to wins, scoring 39.2 fantasy points. It was quite the showing from St. Brown, who might end up with one of the highest fantasy receiver gams of the entire season

Fantasy Dud: Sam LaPorta. There were few duds in this game but LaPorta disappointed. He had three receptions for just 26 yards. With so many mouths to feed in this offense, though, it isn’t a surprise that some might disappear on occasion. That happened to LaPorta in this one.

Game Notes: Jared Goff was nearly flawless, finishing 23-of-28 for 334 yards and five touchdowns without a turnover. Goff made play after play for the Lions.

Rome Odunze was a bright spot for the Bears, catching seven passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns. He has scores each of his first two games this season.

Bengals 31, Jaguars 27

Fantasy Stud: Ja’Marr Chase. Chase showed why he was the first overall pick in many fantasy leagues. He had 14 receptions for 165 yards and a touchdown. His poor showing Week 1 looks like a thing of the past after this huge game. Chase scored 36.5 fantasy points.

Fantasy Dud: Chase Brown. Brown was one of the few fantasy disappointments in this high-scoring game. He ran 16 times for just 47 yards and caught two passes for 18 yards. Brown failed to hit double-digit fantasy points, scoring just 8.5 points.

Game Notes: Joe Burrow was forced from the game early because of a toe injury. Jake Browning made some mistakes but moved the offense in relief of Burrow. He was 21-of-32 for 241 yards and two touchdowns with three interceptions. Burrow is going to get surgery on the injury and will be out three months.

Parker Washington led the Jaguars in receiving, outproducing Brian Thomas and Travis Hunter. Washington had five receptions for 76 yards.

Cowboys 40, Giants 37

Fantasy Stud: Russell Wilson. Wilson continued the trend of players that disappointed in the opener but came up big Week 2. He was magnificent, going 30-of-41 for 450 yards and three touchdowns with an interception. Wilson scored 35.8 fantasy points after managing just 12.8 in Week 1. He is going to keep the starter’s job in New York as long as he keeps playing like this

Fantasy Dud: Tyrone Tracy. Tracy got some work in this one but took more of a backseat to rookie Cam Skattebo, who had more carries and overall touches in the game. Tracy ran five times for just 15 yards and caught four passes for 36 yards. Skattebo had 11 carries for 45 yards and a touchdown. Tracy could move to more of a pass-catching role going forward.

Game Notes: Javonte Williams continues to lead the way in Cowboys backfield, finding the end zone for the second straight game. He ran 18 times for 97 yards and a score. He also racked up six receptions for 33 yards.

Malik Nabers had nine receptions for 167 yards and two touchdowns. Nabers scored 37.7 fantasy points.

Patriots 33, Dolphins 27

Fantasy Stud: Drake Maye. Maye had a really good game, going 19-of-23 for 230 yards and two touchdowns without a turnover. He also ran in a score, rushing 10 times for 31 yards and a touchdown. Maye scored 28.6 fantasy points. He is looking more and more like a possible QB1 for fantasy teams

Fantasy Dud: TreVeyon Henderson. Henderson continues to take a backseat to Rhamondre Stevenson in the Patriots backfield. Henderson had just three carries for 10 yards and two receptions for 30 yards. Stevenson had 11 carries for 54 yards and five catches for 88 yards. Henderson is going to be a hard fantasy player to trust until he starts getting more touches.

Game Notes: Tyreek Hill was much more involved this week. He had a 100-yard game, finishing with six receptions for 109 yards.

Devon Achane scored a receiving touchdown for the second straight game. He ran 11 times for just 30 yards but had eight receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets.

49ers 26, Saints 21

Fantasy Stud: Mac Jones. Jones did a great job in his start for Brock Purdy. Jones was 26-of-39 for 279 yards and three touchdowns without an interception. Jones looked like a guy fantasy teams might be able to use on a spot start basis if Purdy were to miss any more time. Jones moved the offense well

Fantasy Dud: Ricky Pearsall. You thought Pearsall might really rack up the targets in this one because of injuries for the 49ers, but that really wasn’t the case. Pearsall had just four receptions for 56 yards. Pearsall was pretty ho-hum in a favorable matchup for him.

Game Notes: Christian McCaffrey continues to look as healthy as he has been in a while and it shows in his play on fate field. He ran 13 times for 55 yards and had six receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown.

Spencer Rattler had maybe his best game as a pro. He was 25-of-34 for 207 yards and three touchdowns without a turnover.

Colts 29, Broncos 28

Fantasy Stud: Daniel Jones. Jones played another great game, but this time against what many think is the best defense in football. Jones was 23-of-34 for 316 yards and a touchdown without a turnover. He also ran six times for two yards and a touchdown, finishing with 26 fantasy points. Jones has five total touchdowns without an interception in two games. He is having some kind of revival season in Indy

Fantasy Dud: Courtland Sutton. The Broncos had a lot of success offensively but Sutton was the odd man out. He had just a catch for six yards. It was a very unexpected performance from Sutton, who is normally the top target for the Broncos passing game. He should be fine going forward but this game hurt a lot of fantasy teams.

Game Notes: Troy Franklin had a breakout performance. He had eight receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown.

Jonathan Taylor hit the 100-yard rushing mark. He had 25 carries for 165 yards. He also had two carries for 50 yards, giving him 215 total yards.

Eagles 20, Chiefs 17

Fantasy Stud: Tyquan Thornton. Thornton could have had two long touchdowns, but Patrick Mahomes missed him on a wide-open pass. Either way, Thornton still had two catches for 59 yards and a touchdown. He is the big-play threat in this offense right now and showed well with his chances. He is worth a look as a pickup for fantasy owners this week

Fantasy Dud: Jalen Hurts. His team won but Hurts really wasn’t any good for his fantasy owners. He threw for just 101 yards and ran for 17. He did have a rushing touchdown but that still led to just 12.75 fantasy points. You just expect a lot more from Hurts. It was a disappointing showing.

Game Notes: The Chiefs continue to have struggles running the ball with a host of options. Isiah Pacheco had the most carries, rushing 10 times for just 22 yards, though. Kareem Hunt ran eight times for 31 yards.

A.J. Brown got more looks this week but didn’t get many yards. He had five receptions for just 27 yards.

Cardinals 27, Panthers 22

Fantasy Stud: Bryce Young. Young had a rough first half but came back in a big way and almost got a come-from-behind victory. He finished with 328-passing yards and three touchdowns with an interception. Young had 26.6 fantasy points after scoring just 12.7 in Week 1. It was a much better performance. You hope he can build off this one going forward

Fantasy Dud: Marvin Harrison Jr. Harrison had a rough game, catching just two passes for 27 yards. You thought he maybe was turning the corner after his opener, but he came back down to earth in this one. We just aren’t sure what you are going to get from Harrison this year.

Game Notes: Tet McMillan had his first 100-yard game as a pro. He finished with six receptions for 100 yards.

Hunter Renfrow was more involved offense, finding the end zone two times. He had seven receptions for 48 yards and two touchdowns.

Falcons 22, Vikings 6

Fantasy Stud: Bijan Robinson. Robinson wasn’t able to find the end zone but still produced good numbers for his fantasy owners. He ran 22 times for 143 yards. Robinson also had three receptions for 25 yards, giving him 168 total yards. Robinson scored 19.8 fantasy points

Fantasy Dud: Michael Penix. He is another quarterback that won the game but didn’t help fantasy owners. Penix failed to score a touchdown or even throw for 150 yards. He was 13-of-21 for 135 yards without a touchdown or interception. The Falcons were extremely run-heavy in the game, which could be a theme for them going forward. This will limit the ceiling for Penix on a weekly basis.

Game Notes: Aaron Jones was forced from the game because of a hamstring injury. He was unable to return and finished with five carries for 23 yards.

J.J. McCarthy had a really rough second start. He turned the ball over three times and failed to score a touchdown. McCarthy threw for just 158 yards.

Starts, Sits, Sleepers: Week 3

Player Notes
Tyler Shough Sep 18 8:50am CT
Tyler Shough

New Orleans Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler's apparent improvement in Year 2 has sufficiently quieted any QB controversy rumblings, with Nola.com reporting that Saints coach Kellen Moore hasn't fielded a single question about replacing Rattler with rookie Tyler Shough since naming the former the starter. To his credit, Rattler won the competition in the offseason and has played better than expected in the first two games, completing 65% of his passes for 421 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. The Saints are 0-2 and among the worst rosters in the league, but Rattler is coming off a three-touchdown performance against a solid San Francisco defense and has shown some sneaky streaming appeal for Superflex leagues and as a backup in one-QB formats.

Jaylen Waddle Sep 18 8:20am CT
Jaylen Waddle

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle (shoulder) will test the injury pregame Thursday at Buffalo as there is growing optimism the receiver will be able to play. The Alabama product is officially listed as questionable for the Dolphins, who are double-digit underdogs against the Bills and facing the real prospect of an 0-3 start. Waddle has been decent in spite of the Dolphins' poor start, registering nine catches for 98 yards and a touchdown through two games. But given the injury, a Buffalo defense that has fared well against fantasy receivers, and a Miami offense that is going through a rough patch, Waddle is a low-end WR3/flex play while playing on a short week.

Jeremy McNichols Sep 17 11:50pm CT
Jeremy McNichols

Washington Commanders running back Jeremy McNichols (hamstring) was limited in Wednesday's practice ahead of Week 3's home matchup against the Raiders. This seems to be a new injury for McNichols, and the severity is unknown at the moment. McNichols is set to step into a larger role in Washington's backfield as their primary third-down and pass-down back with Austin Ekeler out for the season. McNichols is a highly trusted veteran in pass protection, and he showed some ability to be versatile last season, gaining tough yardage as a runner and catching some passes as a receiver. His most important skill is pass protection, which will keep him on the field a lot. That makes him worth considering as an option to pick up off the waiver wire to see how the Washington backfield shakes out.

Dillon Gabriel Sep 17 11:20pm CT
Dillon Gabriel

Cleveland Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel saw his first game action in the NFL in their 41-17 Week 2 blowout at the Ravens. He completed all three of his passes for 19 yards and a touchdown. With the offense scuffling with Joe Flacco as the starter, discussions about a quarterback replacement are starting to pop up in Cleveland, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Fowler says that Cleveland's situation "bears monitoring" in response to the question of which quarterback is most in danger of being benched. While Flacco is safe for now, he compared the situation to Jacoby Brissett with the Patriots last season. Drake Maye's first NFL start came at home against the Texans in Week 6 of last season, for reference. Gabriel has operated as the No. 2 quarterback all summer and has been praised for his mobility, quick release, and overall grasp of the offense. It will likely only be a matter of weeks before Gabriel slides in as the starter in Cleveland. He makes for an intriguing upside swing to stash in redraft superflex leagues and deeper formats.

From RotoBaller

Chris Godwin Sep 17 9:43pm CT
Chris Godwin

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin (knee) returning in Week 4 'feels like a real possibility,' sources told Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com.

Fantasy Spin: Godwin hasn't officially been ruled out for Week 3, but it sounds like Week 4 is a more realistic possbility for his return. Even when he does return, it could take Godwin a few games to find his rhythm, and he will also have to compete with Emeka Egbuka for targets. Godwin is worth stashing, but he doesn't need to be starting until he proves it on the field.

From TheHuddle

Josh Reynolds Sep 17 9:00pm CT
Josh Reynolds

New York Jets wide receiver Josh Reynolds (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday. Reynolds hasn't been on the practice field since last Thursday due to a shoulder issue. He sat out last week's game and is in danger of missing the Week 3 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His absence should result in a higher workload for Allen Lazard. However, there's really no viable receiving options on this team outside of Garrett Wilson. The Jets are going to be without Justin Fields (concussion), so Tyrod Taylor should be under center. Even if Reynolds plays, fantasy managers can find a better streaming option for Week 3.

From RotoBaller

Evan Engram Sep 17 8:50pm CT
Evan Engram

Denver Broncos tight end Evan Engram (back) was held out of Wednesday's practice session. Engram was dealing with a calf issue last week, but still managed to play in the Week 2 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. However, fantasy managers might not have noticed he played considering he only hauled in one catch for 12 yards during that contest. The veteran tight end has a total of four catches through the first two weeks. His decrease in usage should be more of a concern than this back injury. Fantasy managers should check back on Thursday and Friday for another update on his status. If he sits, Adam Trautman would see an increased role for the Week 3 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. Engram should be rostered in most formats, but is tough to trust after two straight duds.

From RotoBaller

Brandon Aiyuk Sep 17 8:40pm CT
Brandon Aiyuk

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk (knee) was spotted doing some running on the side during Wednesday's practice. It sounds like Aiyuk is continuing to make progress, but is still going to be sidelined for a few weeks. He's currently on the physically unable to perform list through Week 4. There haven't been many updates on his status lately. The assumption is that Aiyuk should be ready to play around Week 5 or 6, but there should be a better timetable closer to that date. Aiyuk should be stashed in most 12-team formats as he'll likely be a focal point of the offense once he's ready to play.

From RotoBaller

Darnell Mooney Sep 17 8:40pm CT
Darnell Mooney

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney (shoulder) was a limited participant during Wednesday's practice session. Mooney missed most of training camp and Week 1 due to a shoulder issue. He made his season debut last week, but was mostly quiet on the field. He hauled in two of his four targets for 20 yards in the victory over the Minnesota Vikings. The fact he was a limited participant on Wednesday could be the Falcons being cautious. Fantasy managers should check back on Thursday and Friday to see if his status changes at all ahead of the Week 3 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. The veteran wideout should be rostered in most 12-team formats despite a slow start.

From RotoBaller

Bhayshul Tuten Sep 17 8:30pm CT
Bhayshul Tuten

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Bhayshul Tuten (shoulder) was limited during Wednesday's practice session. Fantasy managers shouldn't be too worried as Tuten still has plenty of time to get ready before the Week 3 matchup against the Houston Texans. Without Tank Bigsby in the picture, Tuten was able to make a big splash last week. He rushed eight times for 42 yards while adding two receptions for 32 yards and a touchdown in the loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Sadly, Tuten is going to have his value limited as the backup to Travis Etienne Jr. right now. Despite that, Tuten should continue to see his role rise if he plays well. He should be rostered in most 12-team formats at the moment even as the backup.

From RotoBaller

Jordan Mason Sep 17 8:20pm CT
Jordan Mason

Minnesota Vikings running back Jordan Mason is expected to be the main focus in the running game over the next few games. Recently, head coach Kevin O'Connell expressed confidence that Mason has bellcow potential. They expect Mason to handle a significant rushing workload while Aaron Jones (hamstring) is sidelined. The Vikings believe Mason is a multi-faceted player that can do just about anything on the football field. So far this season, Mason has rushed 24 times for 98 yards over the first two games of the season. There's not much competition behind Mason in the backfield right now. He should see all the carries he can handle, which should at least offer RB2 value for their upcoming matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.

From RotoBaller

Troy Franklin Sep 17 7:50pm CT
Troy Franklin

Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix said that second-year wide receiver Troy Franklin is "starting to develop into the player everyone knows he can become." Franklin, who was teammates with Nix at Oregon, had a breakout game in the Week 2 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, catching eight of his nine targets for 89 yards and a touchdown. The 22-year-old wideout currently leads the Broncos in targets (15), catches (12), and receiving yards (133) through the first two games in 2025. Franklin probably won't take over WR1 duties from Courtland Sutton, but a second-year breakout could very well be in the cards for him, especially because of his strong chemistry with Nix. His primary competition for weekly targets will come from Marvin Mims Jr., who is more of a big-play deep threat than one who will be consistently peppered with targets. If you need WR help early on, Franklin is definitely worth a waiver-wire pickup.

From RotoBaller

Davante Adams Sep 17 7:43pm CT
Davante Adams

Los Angeles Rams WR Davante Adams (non-injury) was given the day off for rest and did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 17.

Fantasy Spin: Adams has made an immediate impact for the Rams, logging a team-high 21 targets through two games. Perhaps more importantly, both he and Puka Nacua are putting up strong numbers simultaneously, so there is reason to believe that Adams can continue to have success. At the very least, Adams is a WR3 with upside.

From TheHuddle

RJ Harvey Sep 17 7:40pm CT
RJ Harvey

Denver Broncos rookie second-round running back RJ Harvey is "an important piece of what we're doing," according to head coach Sean Payton. That may be true, and Harvey could see his role grow as the season progresses, but right now, his fantasy value is capped with J.K. Dobbins serving as the RB1 in Denver. Harvey was out-touched 15-6 by Harvey in the Week 2 loss to the Indianapolis Colts and finished with only five carries for eight yards (1.6 yards per tote) while adding one catch for a nice 16-yard gain. In the season-opening win over the Tennessee Titans, the UCF product had six carries for 70 yards and one reception for a loss of a yard. The 24-year-old is slippery with plenty of big-play potential, but right now, he's merely an RB3/flex for fantasy managers with a low floor and ceiling. Harvey and the Broncos also have a difficult upcoming divisional tilt against the 2-0 Los Angeles Chargers on the road this Sunday.

From RotoBaller

Davante Adams Sep 17 7:33pm CT
Davante Adams

Los Angeles Rams OG Steve Avila (undisclosed), DL Braden Fiske (undisclosed), WR Davante Adams (non-injury) and OT Rob Havenstein (non-injury) did not practice Wednesday, Sept. 17. TE Colby Parkinson (shoulder) was a limited participant.

From TheHuddle

Marvin Harrison Jr. Sep 17 7:30pm CT
Marvin Harrison Jr.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray didn't exactly ease fantasy managers' concerns regarding second-year wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. when talking to the media on Wednesday. "There's only one ball. We've been playing this game for a long time. Some days he's gonna get 10, and some days he might get 3. You never know," Murray said when asked if he felt Harrison should have more targets through two weeks. Harrison and Murray supposedly improved their chemistry in the offseason, but through two games, we have yet to see it. The 23-year-old former fourth overall pick is tied for 49th among WRs with 11 targets through two games and has caught seven of them for 98 yards and a touchdown. It might take Harrison a bit more time to reach his true potential, but fantasy managers will be hoping he'll rebound in a divisional matchup this Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

From RotoBaller

Josh Jacobs Sep 17 7:10pm CT
Josh Jacobs

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs (ankle) is dealing with an ankle injury and was listed as a limited participant on the first injury report of Week 3 on Wednesday. It's probably just a bit of rest for the veteran RB early in the week, but it's something worth watching the next few days for fantasy managers. The 27-year-old has been Green Bay's workhorse back through two weeks, as expected, handling 42 carries for 150 yards (3.6 yards per carry) and two touchdowns on the ground, adding one catch for four yards. The Packers will have more than a week of rest going into a Week 3 tilt against the Cleveland Browns, so we'd expect Jacobs to return to practice later this week and play on Sunday. Jacobs should be considered a must-start RB in fantasy if he's active. If he's out or limited, both Chris Brooks and Emanuel Wilson would likely share backfield touches.

From RotoBaller

Kyle Juszczyk Sep 17 7:03pm CT
Kyle Juszczyk

San Francisco 49ers DE Nick Bosa (non-injury), OT Spencer Burford (knee), DE Yetur Gross-Matos (knee), WR Jauan Jennings (ankle, shoulder), FB Kyle Juszczyk (concussion), RB Christian McCaffrey (calf), S Siran Neal (concussion) and OT Trent Williams (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 17. QB Brock Purdy (shoulder, toe) was limited during practice, while RB Jordan James (finger) fully participated in practice.

From TheHuddle

Jayden Daniels Sep 17 7:00pm CT
Jayden Daniels

The Washington Commanders are expected to "err on the side of caution" with quarterback Jayden Daniels (knee) as he battles a knee sprain that he suffered in the Week 2 loss to the Green Bay Packers last Thursday night, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Daniels will not practice this week until at least Friday, and if there is any doubt at all by then, the team is expected to keep him out in Week 3 on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders. In a best-case scenario, it seems like Daniels will be questionable this weekend. The Commanders had backup Marcus Mariota meet with the media on Wednesday, an early sign that they are leaning toward starting him under center against the Raiders. Fantasy managers should not plan on having Daniels available in Week 3. If he's out, Washington could lean on the ground game more with rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Chris Rodriguez Jr., who will be making his 2025 debut after Austin Ekeler's season-ending Achilles injury in Week 2.

From RotoBaller

Christian McCaffrey Sep 17 6:53pm CT
Christian McCaffrey

San Francisco 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (calf) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 17.

Fantasy Spin: McCaffrey probably will not practice much this season but is on track to play in Week 3. He has been productive in both the running and passing game over the first two weeks and is a must-start option in all fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle
