Davis is gaining value weekly
It is always amazing to see the disparity in owner percentage from site to site. If you go and look at waiver suggestions from other sites (please don’t - haha!), there are always some guys suggested on there that you just scratch your head at. How are these guys that widely available? But every site is different, so you just never know who will be out there. Just keep that in mind when scouring your waiver wire. There could be some gems out there that should be owned in your league. Sometimes owners have to make rash decisions and release a player to make room on their roster. So always look at the transactions made from week to week. You might be surprised what is out there.
QUARTERBACK
Tua Tagovailoa, Dolphins (44.9% owned). Tagovailoa had his first four-touchdown game of the season last week. And he did it against a very good Falcons pass defense. It was an impressive performance after two really terrible showings. Tagovailoa is a tough weekly play but certainly has the potential to produce well at times. He has multiple touchdowns five of eight games.
RUNNING BACK
Isaiah Davis, Jets (32.3% owned). Davis continues to see his role increase in the Jets offense as the top backup to Breece Hall. He had 12 touches for 109 total yards last week. Davis looked good with his chances. He might not get a huge workload every week with Hall around, but there are rumors of Hall getting dealt. If that happens, his value would go through the rough, making him a good speculative grab for fantasy owners.
Samaje Perine, Bengals (5.3% owned). Perine got more playing time last week, having double-digit touches for the first time this season. He ran nine times for 94 yards and a touchdown and caught a six-yard pass. There is a possibility the Bengals move to a bit more of a timeshare with the tandem doing so well last week. Nothing is certain but Perine might be worth a look for teams needing running back help.
Tyrone Tracy, Giants (65.7% owned). Tracy will be a priority pickup this week but isn’t available in a ton of leagues. He is out there in some, though, so go get him if you need a running back. He will take over the starting duties with Cam Skattebo out for the rest of the season. Tracy did well in that role last year and could be a fantasy factor down the stretch.
Dylan Sampson, Browns (23.8% owned). Quinshon Judkins left last week’s game because of a shoulder injury and was unable to return. We aren’t sure the severity of the injury just yet but if Judkins has to miss any time, Sampson is likely the next man up. He could have some fantasy potential in a starting role for the Browns.
WIDE RECEIVER
Chimere Dike, Titans (8.0% owned). Dike is emerging as the top target in the Titans passing game. He had seven receptions for 93 yards on eight targets in Week 8 and has 11 receptions for 163 yards his last two games. Dike could be a little hit or miss in this offense, but has some weekly potential to post some big numbers.
Xavier Hutchinson, Texans (4.2% owned). Hutchinson has found the end zone two of his last three games. He had season highs last week, catching five passes for 69 yards and a touchdown. Hutchinson has played the most snaps of any Texans receiver each of the last two games. Nico Collins should be back sooner than later but Hutchinson seems likely to continue to play a role in this offense. He is making plays.
Tyler Johnson, Jets (0.3% owned). The Jets are a train wreck at receiver because of injuries. Johnson might be the top target right now. He tied for the team lead in snaps at receiver last week. He has three receptions each of his last two games and been targeted eight times. Johnson might be worth a dart throw in deeper formats.
Jaylin Noel, Texans (14.7% owned). Noel has double-digit fantasy points each of his last two games. The rookie receiver is starting to become a big factor in the offense, doing a good job out of the slot. He has 13 targets his last two games, catching nine passes for 140 yards. Noel is getting more and more chances to make plays in this offense.
Christian Watson, Packers (36.4% owned). Watson made his season debut and had an immediate impact. He caught four passes for 85 yards. Watson returned from a torn ACL suffered last year and looked good in his first game back. He played 56 percent of the snaps and his usage should just continue to rise as the season progresses. Watson could have some big games in this offense.
Alec Pierce, Colts (47.8% owned). PIerce is making some big plays in the Colts passing game. He is averaging 23.9 yards per reception his last three games. He is the top deep threat for the Colts and capable of the big game any given week. Pierce is a boom or bust player, making him a good bye-week replacement for teams looking to hit it big any given week.
TIGHT END
Juwan Johnson, Saints (43.1% owned). Johnson started strong but faded a little after the first three games. He has gotten it going again, having double-digit fantasy points each of his last two games. Johnson has been targeted 52 times this season, getting plenty of weekly looks. He has a solid floor for fantasy teams.

The New England Patriots have traded safety Kyle Dugger to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Tuesday. In exchange, New England will get a 2026 sixth-round pick in exchange for Dugger and a 2026 seventh-round selection. This seems like a solid low-risk move for the Steelers. Dugger lost his starting gig in New England after only four games, but will get another chance in Pittsburgh. The 29-year-old is only a few years removed from a 109-tackle season. The veteran safety should give this defense a boost for a fairly low price.

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. continued his strong start to the season in a 38-14 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 8. Pittman caught eight of his nine targets for 95 yards and a touchdown in the win, setting season highs in catches, targets, and receiving yards. The veteran wideout has been a dominant red-zone target this season, catching six touchdowns in eight games for the Colts. Overall, Pittman has caught 43 passes for 446 yards while operating as the team's No. 1 receiver. Pittman will remain a rock-solid WR2 heading into a Week 9 road matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

New Orleans Saints tight end Taysom Hill has been unable to find much success since returning in Week 5. Hill missed the beginning of the season while recovering from an ACL injury dating back to last season. The assumption was that Hill would be eased back into action, but he has barely seen the field over the last four games. Last week, Hill hauled in his lone target for six yards and rushed for six yards on two carries in the loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It doesn't appear that the Saints plan on getting Hill heavily involved in their offense. He has seen the field for less than 20 percent of the offensive snaps in three of his first four games. The 35-year-old is avoidable for the upcoming Week 9 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.
From RotoBaller
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Isaiah Bond continued his recent lull in a 32-13 loss to the New England Patriots in Week 8. Bond was unable to catch any of his four targets in the blowout loss, giving him two straight games without a catch as the Browns head into their Week 9 bye. The rookie receiver showed flashes early in the season, but a punchless Cleveland passing attack has crushed any hope of fantasy value for Bond this season. He remains a solid stash in deep dynasty leagues heading forward but Bond is unlikely to make much of an impact over the second half of the season for the Browns this year. His next game comes in Week 10 on the road against the New York Jets.
From RotoBaller
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver KaVontae Turpin has barely been involved over the last few weeks. Turpin was able to produce some decent games in the beginning of the season, but has done nearly nothing lately. Last week, Turpin hauled in one of his five targets for -2 yards in the loss to the Denver Broncos. The return of CeeDee Lamb has pushed Turpin down on the depth chart. The 29-year-old hasn't produced a game with more than 30 receiving yards since Week 3. Turpin shouldn't be considered a viable option heading into the Week 9 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.
From RotoBaller
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy saw his disappointing 2025 season continue in a 32-13 loss to the New England Patriots in Week 8. Jeudy was unable to corral either of his two targets in the blowout loss, giving him just two catches for 17 yards over his past two games. The Cleveland No. 1 receiver overall has caught just 22 passes for 257 scoreless yards in eight games for the Browns this season, as he is shaping up as one of the more disappointing wide receivers in fantasy this season. Jeudy will be on bye in Week 9 before a Week 10 road matchup against the New York Jets. Fantasy managers can feel free to cut him loose in the next few days if there is a more enticing waiver option available.

It's looking more likely that Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson (hamstring) will make his return to the field this Thursday night in a Week 9 contest against the Miami Dolphins after the two-time MVP signal-caller was listed as a full participant in Tuesday's practice for the second straight day this week. The 28-year-old said after Tuesday's session that he is 100% healthy and ready to go for the first time since injuring his hamstring in the Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He was close to being able to play on Sunday in the win over the Chicago Bears, but the Ravens held him out an extra week as a precaution with a quick turnaround in Week 9. Although Jackson might not be inclined to take off and run for extra yards in his first game back this week, fantasy managers should have no hesitations in throwing him back into their starting lineups against a generous Dolphins defense.
From RotoBaller
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Andrei Iosivas has plenty of talent, but he's constantly overshadowed by Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins in Cincinnati. Iosivas has yet to score in eight games in 2025 and was unable to haul in any of his three targets in the Week 8 upset loss to the New York Jets on Sunday. It was the third time that the 26-year-old has been held without a catch in eight games, and he has gone over 50 yards receiving just once, when he caught five of a season-high seven targets for 82 yards in the Oct. 5 loss to the Detroit Lions. The good news is that Iosivas played 80% of the team's offensive snaps in the loss to New York. It hasn't helped Iosivas that quarterback Joe Burrow (toe) is on Injured Reserve. Veteran Joe Flacco has been solid under center for the team in his three starts, but the vast majority of his looks are going to either Chase or Higgins. Iosivas cannot be started in fantasy lineups for a Week 9 tilt against the Chicago Bears.

Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell said on Tuesday that quarterback Max Brosmer will step into the No. 2 role this week with J.J. McCarthy (ankle) "expected to have a full week of prep" as the team prepares to face the division-rival Detroit Lions in Week 9, according to Alec Lewis of The Athletic. Veteran Carson Wentz will have season-ending left-shoulder surgery, so the Vikings are now left with two young, inexperienced signal-callers on their active roster. It's possible Minnesota could make a move to add a veteran QB before next Tuesday's trade deadline, but as long as he's over the high-ankle sprain he suffered in Week 2, McCarthy is expected to be the team's starting QB. Brosmer has appeared in three games in 2025, going 5-for-8 passing for 42 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. He remains off the fantasy radar.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said that safety DeShon Elliott (knee) is "week-to-week" with a knee injury that he suffered in the Sunday night loss to the Green Bay Packers, per Brooke Pryor of ESPN. Tomlin said they have not had talks to decide if Elliott will go on Injured Reserve. It's good news after the Steelers initially feared that the 28-year-old defensive back would miss the rest of the season. Still, he will not be available for fantasy managers in IDP fantasy leagues this Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. If Elliott is placed on IR, he'd be forced to miss at least four games. Pittsburgh's defense has been a disappointment overall through eight weeks, but not because of Elliott. He has been a top-10 IDP defensive back with 38 tackles (20 solo), a sack, one interception, and a forced fumble in only five games played.

There is no timetable for Detroit Lions edge rusher Marcus Davenport's (chest) return, but head coach Dan Campbell said on Tuesday that he's "confident" Davenport will return this year, according to Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News. The 29-year-old defensive end is eligible to return from Injured Reserve after injuring his chest in the Week 2 win against the Chicago Bears, but he will not be back with the team for this weekend's divisional game against the Minnesota Vikings. For now, the Lions will bide their time with Davenport as he continues to rehab his chest injury. The former first-rounder of the New Orleans Saints in 2018 out of Texas-San Antonio only managed to play in two games last year with Detroit, and he suited up for just four games the previous season with the Minnesota Vikings due to injuries.

The New York Giants officially placed rookie running back Cam Skattebo (ankle) on Injured Reserve on Tuesday and claimed defensive back Jarrick Bernard-Converse off waivers from the Cleveland Browns in a corresponding move, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN. Skattebo suffered a gruesome dislocation of his right ankle in the Week 8 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, ending what was looking like a very promising first year in the NFL for the first-year pro out of Arizona State. The 23-year-old finishes his 2025 campaign with 410 rushing yards and five rushing scores on 101 carries while adding 24 receptions for 207 yards and two touchdowns on 32 targets through the air in eight games (five starts). As of right now, it's unclear if the physical runner will be ready for the start of the 2026 season. In the meantime, Tyrone Tracy Jr. will take over lead-back duties in New York, with Devin Singletary also seeing an increase in playing time as the RB2.
From RotoBaller
The Detroit Lions are expecting linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez (knee) to make his 2025 season debut in Week 11 on Sunday Night Football against the Philadelphia Eagles, sources told Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports. Rodriguez has been on the Physically Unable to Perform list all year while recovering from a torn right ACL that he suffered last November. However, the Lions are planning on opening the 26-year-old linebacker's 21-day practice window at some point this week. Detroit will then have 21 days to officially activate the former sixth-rounder from the PUP list. Rodriguez will most likely be eased back into the linebacker rotation for Detroit after he makes his season debut, but his return will be a nice boost for an already strong Lions' defensive unit for the second half of the season.

Free-agent wide receiver Diontae Johnson is working out with the New York Giants on Tuesday, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Johnson was with the Cleveland Browns during training camp and the preseason, but he was cut before the start of the regular season and hasn't joined a team since. The 29-year-old former third-rounder by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2019 out of Toledo spent time with the Carolina Panthers, Baltimore Ravens, and Houston Texans last year, catching a combined 33 passes on 67 targets for 375 yards and three touchdowns. The vast majority of his production came in Carolina, as he caught just three passes for 18 yards in five games with Baltimore and Houston to close out the year. It's been a notable fall for Johnson over the last year-plus, and if he were to sign with the G-Men, he'd merely be battling for a chance to join the active 53-man roster as receiver depth.
From RotoBaller
New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers (knee) had surgery on Tuesday to fix the torn ACL and meniscus in his right knee, and he "should be ready" for the start of next season, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Nabers suffered his season-ending knee injury in the Week 4 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, but he just now had surgery after doctors had to wait for the swelling in his knee to dissipate. Barring setbacks with his rehab and recovery in the offseason, the 22-year-old former first-rounder should be good to go for the start of the 2026 season next fall, although fantasy managers might have some reservations about rolling with a receiver coming off a major knee repair as a high-end WR1. Before his injury, though, Nabers had displayed his game-changing abilities with 271 yards and two scores on 18 receptions in four games. His long-term fantasy ceiling should be higher going forward now that rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart looks like the real deal.
From RotoBaller
Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs (concussion, knee), who is currently on Injured Reserve due to a concussion, might need minor knee surgery, according to two people with knowledge of the injury. Diggs continues to rehab a right-knee injury that has given him problems this year, and he's also recovering from a concussion that he suffered during an accident at home on Oct. 16. The 27-year-old defensive back has dealt with his share of injuries in recent years, as he's also had surgeries for a torn ACL and ligament damage in his left knee. He has already missed two games this year and won't be eligible to return to Dallas until their Thanksgiving Day game against the Kansas City Chiefs. In addition to his knee issues, he's also had problems with his hamstring. Owner Jerry Jones dismissed the idea that Diggs has already played his last game with the Cowboys.
From RotoBaller
The Washington Commanders announced on Tuesday that they released kicker Matthew Wright from their practice squad. Wright was added to the active 53-man roster for Monday night's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs with Matt Gay (back) out, but now the 29-year-old will be back on the open market. Wright made his only kicking attempt in Week 8, an extra point on the team's only score of the game in a 28-7 loss. The move to cut Wright essentially means that the Commanders feel comfortable that Gay will be ready to kick on Sunday night in Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks. Wright has now kicked in one game each for Washington and Tennessee, making his only field-goal attempt and both of his extra-point tries. Fantasy managers should have better options at the position than Gay in Week 9.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor recorded only one target with no catches in their 37-10 Thursday night loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Nailor had maintained a small role in the offense after Jordan Addison returned from his suspension in Week 4, recording six catches for 66 yards on 12 targets since then, but was held catchless for the first time this season against the Chargers. It would likely take an injury for Nailor's targets to spike back up, as the targets are heavily concentrated around Addison, Justin Jefferson, and T.J. Hockenson. He's best left on the waiver wire in 12-team leagues.
From RotoBaller
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Van Jefferson caught only one of his eight targets for six yards in their 38-14 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8. Jefferson saw a season high in targets in the game and tied with rookies Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike, but struggled to consistently connect with rookie quarterback Cameron Ward. The 29-year-old wideout was coming off his two best games of the season, filling for an injured Calvin Ridley (hamstring), catching four of six targets for 75 yards in Week 6 against the Cardinals, then catching all four targets for 41 yards in Week 7 against the Patriots. It's been a struggle for the entire Tennessee offense this season, but Jefferson figures to continue running close to a full number of routes while Ridley is out. He shouldn't be on fantasy radars for Week 9 against the Chargers.
From RotoBaller
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith caught six of his nine targets for 84 yards in Sunday's 38-20 win over the New York Giants. As expected, without No. 1 wide receiver A.J. Brown in the lineup, Smith led the team in targets, receptions, and yards as the Eagles cruised to victory. It was impressive for Smith to record this line, given how well the Eagles ran the ball, which led to Jalen Hurts only attempting 20 passes in the game. The 26-year-old should be expected to operate as the clear focal point of the passing game if Brown is unable to play in their next game, which will come in Week 10 against the Packers after their Week 9 bye.
